Redtory Art and Creative Park - Institutional Reviews

There are 798 in Beijing, M50 in Shanghai, and Hongzhi factory in Guangzhou. Guangzhou Art Park Redtory Factory is the first non-enterprise non-real estate packaging in the real sense of the creative area in Guangzhou, transformed from the original Eagle Money Group Canning Factory, the original Eagle Money Canning Factory was built with the aid of the Soviet Union, and was once the largest canned fish factory in Asia, so its red brick warehouse is all in the Soviet style.

The park has a total area of 170,000 square meters, of which dozens of Soviet-style buildings of various sizes are the most eye-catching. This kind of "three-section" structure composed of eaves, wall body and legging, the left and right sides are symmetrical, the plane is regular, the middle is high and the sides are low, the main building is towering, empty and refreshing, warm in winter and cool in summer. The green area accounts for half of the total area, and each horizontal row of buildings is more than 20 meters apart, with tall trees and 500 parking spaces. Similar to the renovation process of Beijing 798, after the factory was abandoned, these petty-bourgeois-looking warehouses were transformed into creative parks by artists, and various bars, cafes, western restaurants, cultural corridors and art galleries began to move in, making them a good place for many literary and artistic youths to relax.

At present, there are dozens of types of art and cultural exchange institutions, international galleries, artist studios, sculpture exhibition halls and square display areas, bars/cafes, imported bookstores, art and culture stores, studios, health clubs, etc. In addition, the Red Brick Factory often holds large-scale international cultural exchange activities, art exhibitions and special lectures, which attract many domestic and foreign celebrities, artists, scholars, citizens, media and art institutions to participate.

Walking into the Redtory Factory, you can see those peeling walls, mottled iron doors, and discarded huge machine parts everywhere, which are combined into retro literary works, attracting many people who advocate art to come to enjoy and take pictures, and even many Taobao shopkeepers come here to find the most suitable shooting background for their retro literary clothing. It is worth mentioning that F13 is the largest creative product store in the park, which is worth a visit with postcards, meaty, retro LOMO cameras, handmade clothing, cartoon stamps, iron-cast teapots and other playthings. In addition, there are often creative markets in the park, which are spontaneously formed by people who love handicrafts, and sometimes you can find a lot of ingenious gadgets at low prices.

Although Redtory has been transformed from an abandoned factory into a creative cultural and commercial district. But over time, the atmosphere has become more and more commercial, so it may not be a great place for tourists who just want to soak up the historical atmosphere.
