Founded in 2001 and has a history of more than 10 years, City Oasis School is located in the central district of Futian, Shenzhen, and enjoys a high-quality reputation in the parent circle, and is the target international school for most parents in the city center. The urban oasis has two sections, a primary school and a junior high school, which are complemented by a sister school that only has a high school.

In 2016, Urban Oasis School was admitted as a member of CIS, and became one of the three CIS member schools in Shenzhen, along with SZCE and SZSF. The Primary School of Urban Oasis follows the British National Curriculum, and the Secondary School runs the Cambridge International Curriculum, which is mainly based on the British Curriculum. Outside of the system, all students are required to participate in Chinese language courses, and at the primary level, the Beijing Jingshan Chinese curriculum is used in the urban oasis, and the Chinese language is taught under the Cambridge International Curriculum in the secondary school. Foreign teachers do not account for a high proportion of all full-time teachers in the school, and the main sources are from the United Kingdom and the United States. With the exception of Chinese, all other subjects in Urban Oasis are taught by foreign students.

Urban Oasis has no nationality requirements for students, a small proportion of foreign students, and the language of instruction in the school is English. In this context, in order to solve the language problem, Urban Oasis has set up a Language Learning Center (EAL) and employs professional EAL teachers to support non-native English speaking students.

It is worth noting that from the 2020/2021 school year, Urban Oasis will no longer provide teaching services for grades 10 and 11. As a sister school of SZCE, the two schools have always cooperated, and in previous years, outstanding graduates of City Oasis could go directly to SZSE without taking the exam. According to the latest announcement in April 2018, with the completion of the new campus of SZCE, the cooperation between the two sides will be deepened, and students of Urban Oasis can go directly to SZSE after graduating from the ninth grade, with more places and lower difficulty. It is foreseeable that in the coming years, the competition for degrees in the urban oasis will be more difficult and the tuition fees will go all the way.
