Don't get me wrong, Rosebank doesn't sell roses. As the earliest single malt whisky bar in Shenzhen, it has the largest collection of out-of-print whisky and high-vintage liquor in Shenzhen. The name pays homage to the Rosebank Distillery, once known as the "Queen of the Lowlands" – a half-century distillery that has been praised by whisky veteran critic Michael Jackson as a distillery with excellent floral aromas.
Rosebank is located in the OCT Creative Park, the store is not large, with a simple and retro European decoration style, soft and soothing music in the store, and the surrounding white-collar workers and tourists constitute the main customer groups in the store. Rosebank only sells two liquors, a single malt whisky and a variety of classic cocktails. Many of the single malts in the store are out of print, and these one-of-a-kind whiskies come from major distilleries that have closed down or ceased production in the changing years, and the Rosebank series of the same name is the main one. The classic cocktail adopts a Japanese bartending method that pays more attention to details and produces its own layering, and the young bartender who studied under the Japanese bartender master Kim Taka-ki strictly follows the traditional recipe to prepare the product, and the production rarely has complex external decorations.
The price of a single cocktail in the store is 90 yuan, and the price is unified, so that diners can avoid distractions when making their choices, and only find a cup that really suits them based on their favorite taste. Whisky liquor is expensive because of its preciousness, and the highest price is even sold for a high price of 1,200 yuan per glass.
Even more attractive than the wine collection and production is the quality of Rosebank's service. Trained waiters are familiar with the in-store drinks and can give good advice to those who are not familiar with cocktails, while experienced bartenders can open hidden menus and get a cocktail of their own creation. Before ordering, the waiter will explain the ingredients used in the cocktail in detail, check with the diners for allergens, and if the taste is not satisfied, the bartender will also remix it according to the needs of the diners.
Like most of the businesses in the OCT Creative Park, Rosebank has a relatively restrained business hours, opening until 1 p.m. at the latest, and night owls need to pay attention to the closing time. In addition, the store is closed on Mondays and is closed all day.
