The PEAT Bar - Merchant Reviews

The PEAT and Peacock can be said to be two extremes, The PEAT, which calls itself a "bistro", is relaxed and elegant in terms of the overall atmosphere, but the main wine in the store is peated whisky from Islay, Scotland.

Breaking the stereotype of a bar's sleek, The PEAT shifted its focus from the show-off that is common in southern bars to the quality control of raw materials and the finesse of the blending. In the fast-paced city of Shenzhen, The PEAT is undoubtedly a good place for white-collar workers who work from 9 to 5 in the cubicles. Rather than a glitzy bartending show, a full house of residencies and a lively dance of demons, The PEAT prefers a bistro where people can talk freely, creating a quiet place for diners to talk.

The PEAT is brighter than a regular bar, and the interior is dominated by lazy and soothing music. The bistro, which only opened in September 2017, has a wall full of more than 500 whiskies, ranging from high-vintage vintages to rare spirits that have been sold at auction at various auctions. Directly opposite the bar is the most prominent position of the Abe Distillery's various limited editions.

Single malt whisky is made up of four core elements: malting, smoking, distillation and barrel age, with barrel being the key to the colour and flavour of whisky, and peat being the unique feature of whisky. The owner, who was originally an engineering student in the United States, was fascinated by the rich taste of whisky as soon as he was introduced to whisky under the influence of his father, and then this rich wine collection was born.

The main whisky in the store is pure liquor, although the price of a single glass is expensive, but the "attitude" is expensive. Even if it's a vintage, unopened rarity, the bartender will pour you a glass whenever you place an order. Although The PEAT prefers to allow diners to experience the rich taste and depth of the whisky itself, and experience the sweet aroma of flowers and fruits hidden in the front, middle and back notes, considering the public's acceptance of peated whisky, the store also offers a number of easy-to-swallow cocktails, and diners can also get a glimpse of the unique charm of peat whisky from these sweet and delicious concoctions.
