Titleist is part of Acushnet, Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of golf equipment, which has five product lines that sell golf, clubs, shoes, gloves and related accessories. Titleist currently holds more than 1,000 golf patents and is the most used golf ball in professional competition, with the Pro V1 and Pro V1x recognized as the best golf balls in the industry.
Titleist clubs have also earned a reputation in the industry for their professionalism and bespoke service. Tiger Woods has used Tileist's Scotty Cameron putter for most of his career, and he continued to use Tileist's driver for most of his Nike contract, adding to Titleist's legend.
Whereas Titleist's clubs are usually named numerically, with the latter two representing the year of the season in which the clubs were introduced, Titleist's 2018 flagship product was named TS, an abbreviation for Titleist Speed, to indicate a qualitative improvement in the speed of the TS Series over its predecessor, the 917 Series. The TS series was adopted by 17 professional players after its debut on the tour, and many players praised the TS driver for catching up with the level of TaylorMade and Callaway in the evaluation of domestic and foreign players.
Compared to its predecessor, the TS Series has a thinner crown and face thickness, resulting in a lower CG of the clubhead, allowing golfers to easily hit higher angles and lower spin. At the same time, the air resistance of the TS driver is reduced by 20% compared to the previous generation, resulting in a significant increase in ball speed and pitch.
The TS series is currently available in two models, the TS2 and TS3, both of which have received a GOLD rating from Golf Digest. The TS2 is more forgiving, with a sweet spot covering almost the entire face, making it suitable for golfers who are looking for speed and power. The TS3, on the other hand, makes it easier to achieve precise lane adjustments, making it ideal for advanced golfers to hone their skills. At present, the price of the two drivers of the TS series is about 4,000 yuan, which is nearly 1,000 yuan cheaper than the flagship products of TaylorMade and Callaway.
