The history of Reebok dates back to 1895, when British sprinter Joseph Foster designed and manufactured the world's first pair of spikes. In 1958, Foster's grandsons, Joe and Jeff, founded Reebok. Since 2010, Reebok has returned its strategic focus to the field of sports and fitness, signing a 10-year sponsorship contract with CrossFit, which was not well known at the time, to produce tailor-made products for CrossFit. Today, CrossFit has more than 14,000 franchised gyms around the world and was valued at $4 billion by Forbes in 2015.
