In the 2017 Beijing Consumers Association tire comparison test, Yokohama's rolling resistance was the lowest among the 26 tires, reaching the European standard B grade, and most of the other tires were C grades.
 
But compared with the same Japanese Bridgestone and Dunlop, Yokohama is not popular in the domestic market, in addition to the lack of brand publicity, the quality of its tires accidents are frequent, according to the statistics of China Tire Complaint Network, in 2016 Yokohama was complained about 62, ranking among the top five tire complaints. The reason for the complaint is mainly tire peeling and cracking, which is likely to come from its manufacturing process problems, resulting in insufficient strength of the rubber under the tread, and it is easy to cause the tread to bulge and pack after the impact, and continuing to drive may cause the tread to partially peel off, and there are potential safety hazards. However, in 2017, it was revealed that its supplier Toray had used counterfeit tire materials, and Bridgestone was also implicated, but in domestic tire spot checks, both met national standards.
 
Yokohama tires are mainly divided into three series: ADVAN high-performance series, Weichi environmental protection and energy-saving series, ASPEC economical energy-saving and environmental protection series, there are many products, but there are not many well-known models, and the high-level models are basically ignored, only Weichi series is more popular.
 
The main direction of the Weichi-1 is fuel saving and environmental protection, and the design uses the "AIRTEX" technology developed by Yokohama, which makes the tires less prone to air leakage, thereby reducing rolling resistance and achieving the purpose of fuel saving. However, the stiffer sidewall is destined to be less comfortable, and the noise control is not excellent, so the Weichi-1 still has too many things to give up in order to improve fuel economy, but fortunately its price is affordable, suitable for owners who are more concerned about fuel consumption.
