Like all American fountain pens, Widvan was once brilliant. In 1884, the American Widwen obtained a patent for the supply of grooved ink, which solved the problem that the fountain pen needed to be dipped in water for writing, and made a head start in the development of fountain pens. However, due to the lack of long-term vision and the obsession with the development of a new ink filling device, Widvan closed its factories in the United States under the impact of ballpoint pens, Caffoli and Parker, and only factories in Canada, the United Kingdom and France continued to produce.
 
In the thirties of the 20th century, Vidvan France developed the popular capsule-type fountain pen and catered to the market with the production of four-color ballpoint pens, which brought it back to life. The 1983 Gentleman 100 was selected as one of the top five fountain pens in the Pen Bible. In 1992, Widvan launched a higher-level Aichen series, using a domineering embedded 18K gold tip. But later, the Zhizun series replaced the Gentleman 100, and the Haiyun series replaced Aichen, and the classics were changed to a different generation, and their reputation was not as loud as before.
 
At present, the main sales force of Weidiwen is between 1000-2000 yuan, including 1000 yuan Junya series, 1700 yuan vision series and 1400-2000 yuan Exclusive series, all of which are stainless steel tips and are not cost-effective. The pen pal is more interested in taking over Aichen's Haiyun series. The Haiyun series is equipped with an 18K embedded gold tip, using a conical pen body earlier than the torpedo, which is very retro, because it is a dark tip, the writing feeling is hard, slightly damped, and suitable for daily use. But such a configuration is not as pleasing as Da Mingjian at the price of 2500 yuan, and it will inevitably become a niche plaything.
