Personalization is a characteristic of fountain pens, and Nakaya amplifies it with a high degree of customization, and it is the only high-end fountain pen brand in Japan that can compete with Namiki. Similar to the case of Namiki, Nakaya is the predecessor of Shirokane, and now it is also a high-end brand under Shirokane, but unlike Namiki and Baile share a nib production line, Nakaya has a more independent relationship with Shirokan in addition to the universal platinum inking device.
 
Nakaya was first established in 1919, but the beginning of the system of customization services was in 1999, when Nakaya has changed its name to platinum, a group of skilled masters retired one after another, in the panic of the "extinction" of handmade fountain pens, the grandson of the founder of Nakaya gathered these masters, and started the handmade fountain pen customization service.
 
Nakaya custom fountain pens have a high degree of freedom, and can be customized to almost any part according to individual requirements. Customizing the nib is the most basic and needs to be determined by the writing habits questionnaire or the attached manuscript for the master's reference. However, Nakaya does not accept telephone communication, only contact by email, which requires full patience, although only customizing the nib is the fastest, but it also has to wait for more than two months, and Nakaya can only produce about 1,500 fountain pens in a year. Because the production volume is so low, Nakaya never advertises or participates in fountain pen exhibitions, and only by word of mouth in the industry, 75% of orders come from overseas every year.
 
Nakaya customization provides a variety of crafts such as maki-e, immersion gold, luodian, Ryukyu brocade, silver, etc., but the most distinctive, and the only one that can beat the wood is only the slip paint technology, so the price is more affordable than the wood, and the basic model is roughly between 4000-6000 yuan. Slip paint is to coat a layer of translucent slip paint after the paint color is completed, and it becomes more transparent after hand-grinding and polishing. The coating time and process of different colors of lacquer are different, and the colors such as calamus, green, and washed vermilion take a long time or the process is more complicated, and the price is 300 yuan more expensive than the basic colors such as black, red, and bustard.
 
Since the nibs will be customized, the difference between the different product lines of Nakaya is only in the barrel. The product is divided into two series, classic and custom, the classic series contains a variety of basic shapes, the most basic is the torpedo-shaped Long, and the more pleasing pen pals are the Piccolo and Decapod decagonal shafts, both of which have interesting small changes on the basis of the flat-top fountain pen. But the most interesting thing about the shape is the dorsal fin Ver.2.
