Founded in London in 1864, Dai Ami was also a veteran of the ink brand, and was still called T. Ami at the time. Webster and Co moved to Liverpool in 1925 and changed hands several times before changing its name to Ami in 1964. It is the first brand to use gold powder and silver powder in color ink, and has developed a new era of color ink play. In addition to its own product line, Dai Ami also manufactures inks for pen companies such as Yard-o-LED.
 
在近几年pen复兴之前，只做墨水的独立品牌日子是很难熬的，一批墨水厂接连倒闭，R&K、戴阿米等因口碑扎实才得以喘息。pen、彩墨风潮兴起，给这些纯墨水品牌带来了复兴的机会。戴阿米标志性的金/银粉彩墨——Shimmer Ink灵光源泉系列就是在风潮最鼎盛的2015年复出，以中性天然染料墨水为基底，加入足量的金/银色粉，写出的shining效果比J.Herbin的1670系列强烈得多。且在欧系F尖以上的pen堵笔率不高，建议不要使用极细笔尖，勤洗即可。
 
灵光源泉系列现在已经有20多个色号，但与普色系列的100多个色号相比仍然是小巫见大巫，这样的规模，只有鲶鱼能与之媲美。普色系列与R&K的Schreibtinte速写墨水系列相似，皆为天然染料墨水，系列内可自由混合。但戴阿米普色系列的饱和度不高，尤其是黑色系，在所有黑色染料墨水中发灰最严重。厚涂能出现最美妙的色泽，蓝色系如皇家蓝能出紫色sheen，绿色系墨水厚涂可出红色sheen，大推焦茶、万年青，红色的成犊之魂能出浅青sheen，都是热门的戴阿米色号。
