Azimut Benetti Group, the world's top ten yacht brands, founded in 1969, is the world's top leisure yacht brand, can manufacture 230-foot large yachts, specializing in yacht charter, import and sales of modern enterprises
Azimut Yachts was founded around 1969 when Paolo Vitelli, a young university student, founded Azimut GmbH and started the business of chartering sailboats.
The first step towards success
In 1970, some designer yachts appointed the company as their distributor in Italy.
Azimut quickly expanded its operations: in addition to distribution, Azimut began to design new yachts. Through a joint venture with Amerglass, Azimut designed the AZ 43'Bali, a mass-produced fiberglass yacht, which quickly became a success.
Azimut gradually expanded its product range, focusing not only on the low-end yacht market – with the launch of the AZ 32' Targa in 1977, the "Ford T" of the yachting industry – but also on the high-end segment – including the impressive Azimut 105 Failaka, the largest fiberglass yacht mass-produced at the time, launched in 1982).
Acquired Benetti and started in-house production
In 1985, Azimut acquired Benetti. Headquartered in Viareggio, Benetti has a long history of shipbuilding, dating back to 1873 and from which the concept of the mega yacht was designed.
Azimut is now able to build its own yachts, defining new styles and industry standards, which have revolutionized the yacht building industry, such as large frameless windows, power seats and walnut interiors.
New production site and international recognition
Since the end of the 90s of the 20th century, Azimut has continued to maintain its position as a first-class yacht and superyacht builder with the acquisition of the new shipyard in Fano, the reconstruction of the Benetti shipyard in Viareggio and the construction of a new production site in Avigliana in Turin.
This leading position was then consolidated, with numerous commercial successes and the strengthening of its technological and production capacities year by year through an investment policy, which now has a new production site in Brazil.
Style, innovation and quality
One of the top reasons why owners choose Azimut yachts is often irresistible to its beauty. Next, the intrinsic values of the product come into play: comfort, safety features, technical sophistication and elegant living design. Finally, in the period between making a choice and pre-purchase, shipowners want to see more added value. They wanted the shipyard that built their yachts to have a long history and a strong service network to create a successful corporate image, but only if the company was strong and reliable. As a true leader in the yachting industry, Azimut Yachts is guaranteed to meet all of the above.
The value of a luxury yacht lies in the durability of its value. It lies in its beauty that transcends time. It's a style that inspires people who are passionate about the ocean, not just fashion followers. Azimut Yachts' designs shape the Italian essence behind the brand. Each model of Azimut Yachts reflects the attention to detail and style excellence that Italian manufacturing has taken to perfection.
The construction of luxury yachts requires efficient production, advanced technology and innovative capabilities. Owners who choose Azimut are also choosing luxury high-tech yachts, and the Azimut Group mainly invests in cutting-edge R&D facilities in shipyards, and yachts are built in such an environment.
Azimut-Benetti's R&D center develops safe and convenient navigation technology that is unique in the world. In fact, Azimut's technology has always been designed to bring safety and comfort to shipowners.
Design, technology, materials, components and expert personnel are all clear strengths of Azimut and are able to meet a higher standard: quality.
