Land Rover (Landrover) is a world-famous British off-road vehicle brand. Today, Land Rover is the only company in the world that specializes in the production of 4WD vehicles. Perhaps it is precisely because of this that Land Rover's values – adventure, courage and supremacy – shine through its range of cars.

Rover Group was originally an old British automobile company, Rover is a Nordic ethnic group, and Rover uses Rover as a trade name when producing bicycles. In 1904, the production of automobiles, still with "Rover" as the license plate name, because the Rover nation is a brave and warlike pirate nation, so the Rover automobile trademark uses a pirate ship, open red sails to symbolize the company's fearless spirit of riding the wind and waves, invincible. On March 26, 2008, India's Tata Group invested US$2.3 billion to acquire Ford's Jaguar and Land Rover brands, causing a shock in the international auto world.

Land Rover is world-renowned for its 4WD vehicles: since its inception, it has been committed to providing its drivers with an ever-improving 4WD driving experience. In the world of 4WD, Land Rover not only has advanced core technologies, but also a passion for 4WD: he is recognized as the world's leading 4WD innovator. While Land Rover continues to improve its products, it remains true to its tradition of combining company values with lean design.

Sold in more than 140 countries, Land Rover has evolved from a practical model in 1948 to today's versatile 4WD for those who are constantly looking for a new life experience. Land Rover is universally recognized and respected, which is unmatched by cars from other manufacturers. However, Land Rover is still the ultimate expression of its brand values: to this day, three-quarters of all Land Rovers produced by Land Rover are still in use, which is truly amazing.

The company's business history

In 1966, Rover was merged into Leyland Automobile Company, becoming the Jaguar-Rover-Triumph division of Leyland Company, which was acquired by British Aerospace in 1988, officially renamed Rover Group in 1989, and cooperated with Honda Motor Company of Japan in technology and capital in 1990, and was finally taken over by BMW of Germany in 1994. At present, the group's automotive products are divided into three categories: off-road vehicles, sedans and MG sports cars. In March 2000, Ford Motor Company paid 3 billion euros ($2.7 billion) to the BMW Group for all of its all-wheel drive lines, including the RangeRover, Discovery, Freelander and Defender.

On July 22, 2005, Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. successfully acquired MG Rover Automobile Company and its engine production division of the United Kingdom, creating a precedent for Chinese enterprises to acquire famous foreign automobile companies.

Land Rover History

The first Land Rover was introduced in 1948. Its design is simple yet functional, with unmatched strength and reliability. In fact, 2/3 of the Land Rovers sold over the past 60 years are still in use, many of them in some of the most demanding conditions and in inhospitable places.

The first Land Rover in 1948 was designed to be compact, strong and performant. It has very sturdy construction features (such as a short front and rear suspension) that allows you to throw yourself into extreme terrain conditions as soon as you get off the line. Today, as they were 60 years ago, these features are still an important part of the difference between Land Rovers.

In the 50s and 60s of the 20th century, Land Rover cars continued to innovate and improve, with improved reliability and smaller steering circles. During this time, Land Rover has taken the lead in the ever-changing 4WD market. As a rugged, reliable mobile platform, countless agencies are turning to Land Rovers to transport people and equipment to the most challenging areas and then safely out of the road. Such organisations include the Born Free Foundation, the Royal Geographical Society and Biosphere Expeditions, which they still rely on today.

In line with Land Rover's visionary founding purpose, in 1970 a new model was launched, and its own model line was born. An overnight global hit, it combines all the features of a Land Rover with the comfort and performance of a road car.

Since then, Land Rover and Range Rover have continued to develop this culture of innovation: new models, more refinement, more innovative technology, more efficiency and less emissions. In addition, Land Rover continues to implement measures such as Future Technology (e_TerrainTechnologies to improve the environmental performance of vehicles by reducing CO2 emissions), sustainable manufacturing and CO2 offsetting. Land Rover will always lead the way in innovative design, and the new small Range Rover proves that Land Rover is constantly moving forward and always at the forefront of technology and design.
