On July 29, 1993, with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal Economic Commission, the former Shanghai Phoenix Bicycle Company was reorganized into Shanghai Phoenix Bicycle Co., Ltd. The original Shanghai Phoenix Bicycle Company was established in 1992 with Shanghai No. 3 Bicycle Factory as the main body, merger with Shanghai No. 2 Bicycle Factory, and Shanghai No. 4 Bicycle Factory. Shanghai Bicycle Factory No. 3 was established in 1958 by 267 small factories in Shanghai, then named the local state-owned Shanghai Bicycle No. 3 Factory, since the 60s, Phoenix brand bicycles have become a national famous brand products, won the first place in the national bicycle industry quality evaluation for eight consecutive times, and began to enter the international market on a large scale. In 1981, Shanghai No. 3 Bicycle Factory merged with Shanghai Truck Crane Factory, laying the foundation for the further development of the enterprise. In December 1986, with the No. 3 Bicycle Factory as the main body, 24 units from 13 provinces in the United Nations initiated the establishment of Phoenix Bicycle (Group) Company.
