Shanghai Want Want Food Group Co., Ltd., Xueji, founded in 1998, is one of the top ten fruit wine brands, a professional plum wine brand under the listed company Want Want Group, and a world-famous large-scale consumer food manufacturing enterprise

Want Want Group's Snow Plum Wine was produced in 1998 and has been selling well abroad for many years.

The origins of Want Want Group can be traced back to Yilan Food Industry Co., Ltd., located in Luodong Town, Yilan County, Taiwan. The company was founded in 1962 as an OEM and export distributor of canned food, but at that time it was run by a friend of Tsai's father, Tsai Asz. In 1976, the management was taken over by Cai Ashi, who was only 20 years old and only graduated from junior high school, and Cai Yanming volunteered to participate in the company's operation, and the following year (1977) Cai Yanming took over the management as the general manager. However, Tsai, who lacked experience and ability, soon suffered a big loss, and the company's "Langwei Squid Shred" caused the company to lose more than NT$100 million. In 1979, he began to re-open the Taiwan market through his own brand "Wang Zai". Later, because of the optimism that Japanese rice crackers have a lot of profits, and found the Japanese rice cracker factory Iwazuku fruit OEM, and later obtained Iwatsuka technology authorization and launched the "Want Want Senbei" has achieved great success, advertising and publicity effectively combined with Taiwan's folk worship habits, and the market share in Taiwan was as high as 95%, forcing the old food manufacturers to withdraw from the competition one after another. In 1983, the trademark was named "Want Want".

Through the marketing techniques combined with folk beliefs, Want Want has successively launched new products such as "Langwei Xian", "Snow Moon", "Wangzi Small Steamed Buns" and so on have achieved good results. Tsai then planned to expand beyond Taiwan, especially Chinese mainland in the midst of reform and opening up. In 1989, it registered the trademark "Want Want" in China, making it the first Taiwanese manufacturer to register a trademark in mainland China. In 1992, Cai Yanming abandoned the increasingly fierce competition in the coastal provinces of the mainland and set up a factory in Changsha, Hunan, becoming the first foreign-funded manufacturer in Hunan Province and starting Want Want's rice cracker business in the mainland. Since Want Want is the first rice cracker manufacturer in Chinese mainland, the huge profits have attracted a large number of manufacturers to follow up, causing gross profits to decline all the way; Therefore, Want Want responded to the battle with the strategy of expanding the scale of the economy, on the one hand, trying to reduce the cost, on the other hand, forcing the followers back with low prices, and finally not only stabilized the war, but also dominated the mainland with a market share of up to 85%.

In 1996, Want Want was listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange under the name of Want Want Holdings, but due to poor trading response, Cai Yanming decided to privatize the company in 2007 and withdraw its listing in Singapore.

In 2007, the financial incident of Liba Group (Liba case) occurred in Taiwan, and Want Want began to buy shares of the group's subsidiaries one after another; Invested in Youlian Product Insurance, a listed company under Liba Group, by way of capital increase, and changed its name to Want Want Youlian Product Insurance. In addition, it also hoped to acquire 40.32% of the equity of Eastern Television with 3 billion yuan and become the largest shareholder, but unfortunately failed.

In 2008, Want Want was re-listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the name of Want Want China Holdings Limited (HKEX: 151) at an offer price of HK$3 per share.

In 2009, Want Want Group stepped into the media industry and bought the China Times Department, which is facing huge losses and owns China Times, Business Times, China Television Corporation, Zhongtian TV and other media. In the face of this controversy, Want Want Group was strongly dissatisfied and used the media to fight back. The so-called objective and impartial non-governmental organizations, such as the Media Watch Foundation, said that if Want Want does not allow the case to return to the public sphere for rational discussion, it will call on everyone to reject the three middle schools. Want Want Group then published a half-page newspaper on the front page of the China Times demanding an apology from those who had slandered and criticized the case, failing which legal action would be taken. As of June 14, 2009, a total of four scholars had received letters from reporters. A very small number of bloggers believe that Want Want Group, as a private media, has suppressed public freedom of speech by means of legal intimidation, and launched the "I Want Want Want Deposit Letter" campaign to connect with it.
