Subway Brand Management Consultants (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., founded in the United States in 1965, is a world-renowned fast food chain brand, mainly selling salads and made-to-order sandwiches

In Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, 1965, Fred Brown. Fred Deluca had just graduated from high school. Like many of his peers, he was eager to go to college. Although he was a hard-working, capable, and reliable young man, he struggled to raise enough money to earn $1.25 an hour by doing odd jobs at a local hardware store.

Frustrated, Fred decided to ask his good friend at home, Peter. Dr. Peter Buck asks for some advice. The two had been friends for many years, and Fred told Dr. Buck that he wanted to become a doctor by studying and hoped that Dr. Buck would lend him a tuition fee. But Dr. Buck told Fred an idea that would change his life and the lives of people around the world.

"I think you should open a submarine sandwich fast-food restaurant," Dr. Buck said. At first, Fred was skeptical, but when Dr. Buck said that the sandwich shop would pay for Fred's future tuition, he immediately agreed to open a partnership. THAT NIGHT, FRED AND DR. BUCK FORMED A PARTNERSHIP TO CREATE THE FIRST SUBWAY® FAST FOOD RESTAURANT.

At noon on the first day, Fred and Peter's submarine sandwich shop opened, and customers flocked to it. Since that day, the company has continued to grow. Fred and Peter's goal is to open 32 submarine sandwich restaurants within 10 years. By 1974, eight years after they opened their first sandwich restaurant, Fred and Peter owned and managed sixteen fast-food restaurants in Connecticut, and only half of their goal was achieved.

Just as Fred and Peter were looking forward to expanding their business, they thought of franchising, which they initially ignored as if franchising was for "big companies". The desire to succeed drove Fred and Peter to the firm that franchising was the key to achieving their goals. So Fred made an appointment with his friend Brian. Brian Dixon and offered him very lucrative terms. He offered Brian a loan to buy one of the fast food restaurants, but to add to the appeal, Fred told Brian that if he didn't like the business, he could return the fast food restaurant and not owe the two of them.

Brian was the first franchisee® of the famed SUBWAY and set a new standard for Subway's® business model. In this way, Peter and Fred not only achieved their goal, but also exceeded their original expectations. Now in their 43rd year of operation, SUBWAY® has become the world's largest chain of submarine sandwich franchises, surpassing McDonald's® in the U.S., Canada and Australia. Fred. De Luca and the SUBWAY® chain have received numerous awards and accolades, and the name of SUBWAY Brand Management Consultants® (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and its products have been featured in many TV shows and cartoons. The SUBWAY® franchise started as an ordinary sandwich restaurant in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, and has gone through a long process of development.
