THE BIRTH OF PING

"I've found that with simple physics and mechanics, you can make a club that works better and doesn't keep the ball pushing off the target line." Karsten Solheim said. Since then, he's been designing putts at his home in Redwood City, eventually creating the first putter that combines heel toe balance with perimeter weighting technology. He branded the putter "PING" because it hit the ball with a crisp "PING"!

Tailor-made technology

The success of the Anser putter and Eye 2 irons has made PING a great name in the industry, and people believe that the game can be enjoyed as much as possible with a good club. But Karsten Solheim started tuning clubs for professional players on tour in the early '60s, and this experience led him to invent PING's unique Color Code Fitting System, which provided technical support for his later tailor-made business.
