Founded in November 1998, Tencent is currently one of the leading Internet value-added service providers in China. Since its establishment, Tencent has been adhering to the business philosophy of "everything is based on user value", providing stable and high-quality services for hundreds of millions of users, and has always been in a state of steady development. On June 16, 2004, Tencent Holdings Limited was publicly listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code: 700).

At present, Tencent has taken "connecting everything" as its strategic goal, providing two core services: social platform and digital content. Through China's leading online platforms such as instant messaging tool QQ, mobile social networking and communication services WeChat and WeChat, web portal Tencent (QQ.com), Tencent Games, and social networking platform QQ Zone, it meets the needs of Internet users in terms of communication, information, entertainment and finance. As of March 31, 2017, QQ had 861 million monthly active accounts, with a peak of 266 million simultaneous online accounts, and WeChat and WeChat combined 938 million monthly active accounts.
