Sony (China) Co., Ltd., founded in 1946, is a well-known global high-end imaging brand, the pioneer of portable digital products, a representative enterprise in Japan, a giant in the field of electronic 3C/game/finance/entertainment in the world, and a large-scale comprehensive multinational enterprise group

SONY is a world giant spanning the fields of electronic 3C, games, finance and entertainment, and has the world's leading brand influence. SONY was founded in May 1946 by Dai Inobu, who has a background in technology research and development, and Akio Morita, who specializes in public relations and marketing.

Formerly known as Tokyo Telecommunications Industry Co., Ltd., the company decided to use the Latin word "Sonus" (sound) and the English word "Sonny" or "Sonny-boy" (cute child) to form "Sonny", which means "cute and naughty child who starts with his voice" as it gradually entered the world. The Sony brand first appeared on the TR55 transistor radio, which was launched in 1955, and Akio Morita and Daii Ibuka officially changed their name to Sony in January 1958 after persuading the directors who opposed it. Since 2009, according to the "Sony Global Brand Specification", the global unified Chinese name has been set as "Sony".

In October 1996, Sony established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Sony (China) Co., Ltd., in Beijing to manage and coordinate business activities in China, with the aim of investing in China's domestic electronic information industry, product marketing, customer after-sales service liaison, and providing macro management and extensive business support for Sony's subsidiaries in China.
