Shanghai Phoenix Blanket is a time-honored brand of domestic blanket, founded in 1922, has a history of more than 90 years, and now Shanghai Phoenix Blanket Industry is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Leading Co., Ltd.

The phoenix blanket originated from a yarn factory founded by businessman Lu Peizhi in 1922, and the factory changed hands several times in the following years, and in 1937, it was occupied by the invading Japanese army and classified as a naval clothing factory, specializing in weaving military blankets. In 1943, after the spinning of the mill was released from military control, it was purchased by the Japanese businessman Dezhen Zhengzang and renamed Mingfeng Yarn Factory.

In September 1945, Mingfeng Yarn Factory was taken over by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (i.e., China Textile Construction Corporation) and renamed Shanghai No. 18 Cotton Textile Factory, expanding cotton spinning equipment, producing cotton yarn and thread, and concurrently operating cotton blankets until the liberation of Shanghai. At the end of 1955, it turned into a franchise for cotton blankets and woolen blankets.

In 1972, U.S. President Richard Nixon visited China for the first time, at that time, according to the instructions of the municipal government, as a political task, Shanghai No. 18 Cotton Textile Factory redesigned and registered the trademark "Phoenix" used by it, and the new "Phoenix Blanket" was presented to U.S. President Nixon as a national gift.

Since September 1978, the production of cotton blankets has been transferred to the factory of Nanhui Commune. The 18th Cotton Textile Factory is matched with the first phase of Shanghai Jinshan Petrochemical Project, specializing in the production of acrylic blankets and blankets, and the factory name was changed to Shanghai Blanket Factory.
