Hunan University of Foreign Economics is a private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The school was founded in 1997 by Hunan Falcon Industrial Co., Ltd., formerly known as "Xiangnan College of Arts and Sciences"; In 1998, it was relocated to Lugu Park, Yuelu District, Changsha City, and renamed as "Hunan University of Foreign Economics (in preparation)"; In 2000, it was approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government to be set up as a higher vocational college; In 2005, with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college.
