Nanfang Press Media Group, formerly known as Nanfang Daily Press Group, was established on May 18, 1998.
Nanfang Daily is the official newspaper of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, which was founded on October 23, 1949. In 1990, it was awarded the title of "National Advanced Collective of Journalism" by the China Journalists Association, and in 1991, it was awarded the title of "Advanced Collective" by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government. Nanfang Daily publishes 12 pages a day, with the Pearl River Delta region increasing its number to 16 pages from Monday to Friday.
