The hunter encountered a bear on the way to hunt, and when he ran out of bullets, he had to pick up his high-quality hunting knife made by Union Razor Co. to fight the bear, so he saved his life, he wrote that this knife can kill a bear (Kill a bear), but because the hunter is not highly educated, he wrote it as Kil a bar, and later was abbreviated to Ka-bar, so the name Ka-bar was praised by everyone, and even more famous than Union, As a result, in 1951, Union Razor officially changed its name to Ka-bar, but before that, Union had already put the Ka-bar logo on their knives.
Kaba, a legend
On December 9, 1942, after the start of World War II, Kaba presented a fighting knife to the U.S. Marine Corps, hoping it would become their usual weapon. In collaboration with the Maritime Quartermaster Division, improvements were made to the products being designed by the Maritime Quartermaster and to the U.S. Marine Corps Tactical Multi-Tool Knife. As the war escalated, the demand for these knives was too great for the production of kaba to keep up, so the government designated several knife companies to produce similar knife supplements. The total value of the Kaba wartime exceeded one million. The quality of the cabal knives is gradually recognized, and such a large quantity has also made "kabar" the most mentioned name among the companies that produce these knives, regardless of whether they are produced at the kaba factory or not.
These knives are used for everyday tasks such as setting up tents, fixing nails, opening cans, digging craters, not to mention protecting lives.
The popularity has increased rapidly, while at the same time gaining the utmost respect. Kaba's knives were adopted not only by the Marine Corps, but also by the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Underwater Demolition Squads at night. Years after World War II, styles used in the Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and the Iraqi Freedom Conflict War were reactivated.
During the war, the Kaba knife was highly reliable and of consistent quality under strict quality control procedures and supervision by the Marine Corps and the Navy Supply Inspectors assigned to the Kaba plant.
In 1976, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Marine Corps Sabre business, some products were re-produced, and these high quality standards have been maintained ever since. It was also at this time that the original Orion factory in New York and some of the original mechanics worked together to establish a work called the "Full Dress Model", a limited edition commemorating the styles that proved to be most meaningful to the Marines. Reproduced using the original blueprints from the company's archives, this one is seen as true art, and the look, feel, and perfect performance of the fighting knife in war are inherited. The first of these knives was presented to the command regiment of the Marine Corps, which was later exhibited in the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico.
The popularity of the Kaba Fighting/Tool Knife has accumulated over the years, making the USMC Commemorative Edition a very warm welcome. As soon as the limited commemorative edition appeared, Marines, knife enthusiasts and collectors alike sprang into action.
