Towngas Investment Limited (Towngas Group) is a public utility company operated by The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) in the Mainland, with a business covering city gas, city water, gas appliance retail, as well as extended services such as comprehensive gas insurance, home furnishing boutiques and high-end cabinets.

In 1994, Towngas began to invest in gas projects in the Mainland, first establishing a city piped gas enterprise in the Pearl River Delta region of South China, and then vigorously promoting the development of urban piped gas in the Yangtze River Delta region of East China in line with the national natural gas clean energy policy, and successively expanding to central, southwest and northeast China. In 2002, Towngas established Towngas Investment Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen to manage its investment projects in the Mainland. To date, Towngas China has developed more than 132 city gas enterprises in Nanjing, Wuhan, Xi'an, Jinan, Chengdu, Changchun and Shenzhen in the Mainland, with operations in 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in East China, Central China, North China, Northeast China, Northwest China, Southwest China and South China, with the number of residential, industrial and commercial customers growing from about 5,000 to more than 23.4 million, with a gas sales volume of 17 billion cubic meters and a total gas supply pipeline network of more than 92,960 kilometers.

In order to further enhance the safety of gas consumption for customers, Towngas China launched the gas appliance brand "Towngas Bauhinia" in the Mainland market in 2005. Due to the excellent quality and excellent service, the sales volume of Towngas Bauhinia series gas appliances has been rising, and the cumulative sales volume has exceeded 4.3 million units so far. In the same year, Towngas launched the mainland water market and invested in seven water projects in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. So far, Huayan Water has served more than 1.2 million customers, with a daily water supply capacity of 2.5 million tons, a daily sewage treatment capacity of 400,000 tons, and a daily reuse of 40,000 tons of reclaimed water, providing high-quality domestic and industrial water for the vigorous economic development of mainland cities.
