Leifeng Pagoda - Agency Reviews

Leifeng Pagoda was originally called "Imperial Concubine Tower", originally Wu Yue Zhongyi Wang was built because of the Yellow Concubine's son, and because it is located in Leifeng, the descendants changed its name to "Leifeng Tower". The Chinese folk tale "The Legend of the White Snake" made Leifeng Pagoda famous, and in the story, the monk Fahai suppressed Bai Suzhen under Leifeng Pagoda. The old Leifeng Pagoda collapsed in 1924 and was rebuilt in 2002, and now the Leifeng Pagoda is China's first colorful bronze pagoda, and "Leifeng Sunset" is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake.

In addition to the legendary historical background, the appearance of Leifeng Pagoda is also a must-see. The whole tower of Leifeng Pagoda is more than 70 meters high, and retains the attic-like structure before the old tower was destroyed. Leifeng Tower is composed of three parts, the base base, the body of the tower, the tower stop, there are eight sides, five layers, the roof of each layer is covered with copper tiles, the corner is provided with copper bucket arch, and the copper wind Duo (wind chime) is hung under the eaves. The second to fifth floors of Leifeng Pagoda all have external overhanging flat seats, equipped with railings and enclosed into eaves corridors, for visitors to climb the tower to enjoy the scenery. The top of the tower adopts the gilding process, and the whole tower is exquisitely designed and elegantly decorated.

There is an elevator in Leifeng Pagoda to and from the floors, from the base upwards, each floor has a different content. The dark layer is between the first and second floors, the theme of this layer is the Dongyang wood carving mural "The Legend of the White Snake", the scenes such as borrowing umbrellas in the rain, flooding the golden mountain, and breaking the tower are vividly displayed in front of you one by one, and the workmanship is exquisite, extremely meticulous. The second floor is a mural painting made of acrylic paint, "Wu Yue Building Tower", which mainly shows the reason and process of the initial construction of the old tower of Leifeng. The third floor displays eight poems with a total of 23 poems, all of which are written by calligraphers and then carved in praise of Leifeng Pagoda or Leifeng Sunset. On the fourth floor is the colorful relief mural "Panorama of West Lake", each mural in this panorama map corresponds to the scenery of West Lake.

Ascending from the fourth floor, you will find the top floor, and the first thing that catches your eye is the golden dome. There is a huge lotus flower in the center of the dome, there is a dark pavilion in the lotus, the inner wall of the dome is equipped with more than 2,000 small Buddha shrines, each Buddha shrine is placed in a gold-painted pagoda, and below the dome, there are eight Dongyang wood carving murals about Sakyamuni - it can be seen that the Leifeng Pagoda has a strong Buddhist culture. The eaves corridor outside the top floor is an excellent position to climb high and overlook the ten scenic spots of West Lake.

The treasure of the town tower of Leifeng Pagoda is a sterling silver Ashoka Pagoda that places the "Buddha snail hair relics", which is the only "Buddha hair relics" unearthed in China at present, which is stored in the Buddha relics hall next to Leifeng Pagoda. In addition, Leifeng Pagoda also has a ruins layer, retains the ruins of the old tower of Lei Feng, and the broken base is all enclosed with glass, and the visit value is not much.

Although the sunset of Leifeng is related to Leifeng Pagoda, the viewing place is not in Leifeng Pagoda, and visitors can check the best viewing place and time in advance before going.
