Xiguan business district
Xiguan business district mainly refers to the area of Shangjiu Road, Xiajiu Road and Tenth Fu Road, which is mainly Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, which is known as "Xiguan Business Corridor" after commercialization in the nineties of the last century. It is not the same as Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, where the grassroots temperament is more obvious, there are many popular brands, and clothing and affordable jewelry can find a place here. In addition to shopping, it is also a major tourist attraction in Guangzhou, with a rich smorgasbord of modern commerce, traditional architecture and local cuisine.
Up and down nine pedestrian streets
Covering the upper 9th road, lower 9th road, 10th Fu Road, Baohua Road, Kangwang Road and other sections, it officially became a commercial pedestrian street on September 30, 1995, with a total length of about 1.5 kilometers, which is one of the most prosperous areas in the old city, similar to Beijing Road West Danjing or Shanghai Nanjing Road.
The main road of the pedestrian street is dominated by arcades, mostly old buildings of the Qing Dynasty, which absorb the architectural styles of Europe and Manchuria, and retain the Xiguan style. The structure on both sides of the street is the upper residential area, the lower shops, and the second floor is sheltered by balconies, which is convenient for passers-by to shelter from the sun and rain.
There are many small and medium-sized shops in the block, mainly clothing and decorations, as well as snacks and electronic product stores. Compared with Tianhe and Beijing Road business districts, Shangxiajiu is mainly a low-end brand, and the price level is suitable for students or ordinary wage earners.
There are also several large squares on the pedestrian street, and Hanbao Plaza is the most popular thanks to its geographical location, it is close to the bus and subway stations, and is located between Baohua Road, Duobao Road and Baoyuan Road. However, there are no surprises in Hanbao Plaza, the first and second floors are mainly small stalls selling clothing, and there are hot air, Uniqlo, Parknshop supermarket, Daoxiang Restaurant, etc. Liwan Plaza was built earlier, the north tower is mainly engaged in jade, jewelry and clothing wholesale business, and the south tower is mostly engaged in shopping and dining shops.
Shangxiajiu has always been crowded, and a considerable number of people are not shopping, but to patronize the time-honored food shops on this street, including Tao Tao Ju, Lianxiang Lou, Guangzhou Restaurant, Yin Ji Cheong Fun, Nanxin Milk Dessert Expert, Liwan Famous Food, Baohua Noodle Shop, Quxiang Restaurant, etc., all of which are worthy of praise. There are also barbecues, egg waffles, beef offal and other snacks everywhere, which can be enjoyed all the way.
The Ping'an Theater with a sense of age has attracted many tourists, and there are old-fashioned theater boxes in Hall 1 to experience, but the audio-visual effect is inferior to that of the new cinema.
Shangxiajiu is also close to Shamian and Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, two well-known scenic spots in Guangzhou, and it is worth going to see from the perspective of comprehensive eating, drinking and playing.
