Nanjing West Road business district

Nanjing West Road was a prosperous place more than 100 years ago, and it belongs to the western area of Shanghai Tang's "Ten Mile Ocean Field". In the 90s of the last century, Shanghai Centre began to gradually introduce international famous brands, and Westgate, CITIC Pacific and Hang Lung "Golden Triangle" opened one after another, showing the concept of shopping mall to consumers for the first time. After 30 years of accumulation, the West Nanjing Road business district has become one of the areas with the highest concentration of high-end international brands in Shanghai.
The business district is located in the core area of Shanghai, with roads extending in all directions, but "traffic jams" and "parking difficulties" will still plague consumers who drive during peak hours. The subway station has a large number of entrances and exits and is widely distributed, which is the first choice to take public transportation to the business district. The malls are generally located in an east-west direction, not too far from each other.

Meilong Town Square
The Westgate Plaza building adopts a "modern classic design concept", with soft light apricot colors in the interior, warm stone matching and elegant geometric patterns in the lobby and elevator hall, and traditional European sloping spires in the office building. With the increase of service life, the appearance of the building is slightly old.
The shopping mall in Meilong Town is connected to the famous Isetan department store in the building, and the interior space can be distinguished by the decoration style. The interior of Westgate Plaza is decorated with black or dark brown iron bars and white walls, giving the impression of an old Shanghai railway station, while the Isetan department store, which has been in business for many years, has a simpler and brighter decoration. The positioning of the two is similar, with brands such as Clinique, Lancôme, Muji, and Lily Brown being more accessible and affordable than the previous two malls, and the holidays are more lively, resulting in an excellent shopping experience.
There are 500 parking spaces in Westgate Plaza, 10 yuan per hour, and the price is fair. It is close to the subway station and has convenient transportation.

Hang Lung Plaza
Completed in 2001, Hang Lung Plaza (including the office towers) was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and was the tallest building in Shanghai's Puxi area at the time. The five-storey, 55,000-square-metre shopping mall opened on June 20, 2001 and was selected as the No. 1 shopping mall in Shanghai in 2006 with a Hong Kong-style management model.
Nearly 20 years after its opening, the interior of the building is still very elegant, with beige floor tiles and soft lighting, solemn, bright and not flashy and dazzling, making it the best sales and display platform for many luxury brands. The rotunda and atrium are also one of Shanghai's fashion show destinations. In addition to the open single-storey area and loosely arranged shops, there is a wide vertical space in the middle. The regular distribution of elevators on both sides and the layout of the mall at a glance make the shopping experience better.
The mall is home to a number of flagship stores of world-renowned brands, including Hermes, LouisVuitton, Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Celine, Escada, Bvlgari, Fendi, Loewe, Prada, Versace, Lanvin and more, from luxury brands to affordable luxury brands. Most of the restaurants are concentrated on the 3rd to 5th floors, and most of them are Japanese and Korean food, desserts and cold drinks, which are quite stylish.

HKRI Taikoo Hui
Located on the east side of the West Nanjing Road MRT station, HKRI Taikoo Hui is a newly established mid-to-high-end commercial shopping mall in the eastern section of West Nanjing Road, which is jointly owned, managed and operated by two Hong Kong-listed companies, and opened in phases from the second half of 2016 to 2017.
With an investment of RMB17 billion and an area of more than 100,000 square meters, HKRI Taikoo Hui is designed as a mall block consisting of five European-style podiums, with a rooftop garden, a cherry blossom forest at DB Avenue and a 200-metre dome-shaped glass canopy. However, the internal guidance of the mall is insufficient, and the structural zoning is unclear, so you will not know where to start when you first enter it.
The mall brings together nearly 250 brands and 45 restaurants from all over the world, including a Starbucks bakery factory, the first Dyson directly operated concept store, the largest City'Super lifestyle supermarket in the mainland, the second Disney retail store in China, and the first Page One Ye Yitang Cultural and Creative Bookstore in Shanghai. However, consumers often follow the popularity, come for a certain store, and then disperse in a hurry, making it difficult to lock in consumer groups for a long time. During the day, the business is slightly cold, and some stores are still vacant.
HKRI Taikoo Hui is the closest shopping mall to the intersection of the North-South Elevated Highway and the Yan'an Road Elevated (equivalent to the East-West Elevated Highway), adjacent to Exit 3 of West Nanjing Road Station of Line 2 and Gates 12 and 14 of West Nanjing Road Station of Line 12, and is seamlessly connected to Metro Line 13 for convenient transportation.
