The school is very large, with a construction area of about 100,000 square meters and a total area of 350 acres, which is equivalent to 20 branches of the High School Affiliated to the National People's Congress. In addition to the usual basketball courts, football fields, and volleyball courts, the school also has high-end sports venues such as international standard golf driving ranges, climbing walls, and fencing centers, as well as rare halls such as an observatory, pottery room, studio, and piano room. It is worth mentioning that the school also has a zoo, which raises highly interactive animals such as alpacas and monkeys, as well as rare species such as black swans and red-crowned cranes. Because of the huge cost of the zoo, it is also criticized by parents and students.

Haidian Foreign Language Experimental School has excellent facilities and a beautiful environment, and has two paths in high school: college entrance examination and going abroad (now separated from Haidian International School). However, in reality, the overseas management model is somewhat rigid, the school advocates full boarding management, with a little coercion, its mobile phones, snacks, extracurricular books ban and dormitory system is very strict, a section of the fence is even laid with barbed wire, well-known alumnus Lu Han also frankly admitted that overseas management is strict. This is not unrelated to the experience of the management. In terms of teachers, overseas can attract some public school teachers with a high threshold, including retired teachers from Beijing's No. 4 Middle School, but due to flaws in management, teachers are more mobile, and the overall level is actually uneven, which is different from the publicity materials. In terms of college entrance examinations, the school maintained a 100% online rate of science undergraduates from 2016 to 2018; The online rate of liberal arts undergraduates is always higher than 92%; The rate of key undergraduate courses ranges from 60% to 85%. Overseas results seem amazing, but the analysis of results needs to consider the entrance end and the local average: the score line of overseas recruitment can usually screen out the bottom 50% of students in Haidian District, while the undergraduate online rate in the eastern, western, Haihai and Chao districts of Beijing is usually close to 90%, and the general high school education level in Chaoyang District is weak, but the online rate of key undergraduates can sometimes be higher than 60%, in contrast, the online rate of 70% overseas is slightly mediocre.

The high school enrolls about 100 students every year, and the classroom teaching emphasizes students' autonomy and uses PPT more. Language courses are the characteristics of the school, its English textbooks are selected from Beijing Normal University, and the second foreign language classroom includes Japanese, German, and French. It is worth mentioning that the high school also accommodates non-Beijing students and allows them to take the college entrance examination in other places, which is relatively rare among Beijing high schools.

The laboratory and other public hardware facilities are excellent, but the utilization rate is not high.
