The Fire Palace was originally built in 1577 and has been one of the most lively temples in Changsha for hundreds of years. On April 12, 1958, Mao Zedong, then chairman of the Central Committee, became famous all over the country after enjoying the taste here, and the phrase "stinky tofu in the fire palace, smells stinky and tastes fragrant" has also become the loudest propaganda slogan of stinky tofu in Changsha. Over the years, the Fire Palace has not only won the honors of "China Time-honored Brand", "National Intangible Cultural Heritage", "Chinese Famous Restaurant" and so on, but also a must-visit place for national leaders and foreign dignitaries to come to Changsha.
 
However, the Fire Palace is not popular with the people of Changsha, and when asked about the Fire Palace, most of the locals replied that "where foreign tourists only go, locals never go". But if you look at the strength of Hunan cuisine alone, the status of the Fire Palace cannot be underestimated. Over the years, the restaurant has invited Master Moquan, a master of Hunan cuisine, to serve as the general technical consultant, and the two restaurants of the internal snack kingdom and the capital of Hunan cuisine have produced nearly 300 kinds of Hunan snacks and Hunan cuisine, and the richness of the dishes is one of the best.
 
The Snack Kingdom is located next to the main entrance of the Fire Palace and occupies two floors. The restaurant adopts the method of self-pick-up in the open stall, covering more than 100 kinds of traditional snacks in Changsha, of which six major signboards must be tasted. Stinky tofu, a must-have dish that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, has a strong smell; Dragon fat pig blood is delicate and smooth, fragrant and delicious; The scallion oil is golden in color and fragrant; The sugar and oil baba is sweet in the mouth and soft and glutinous in texture; The appearance of the sister dumplings is white, delicate and oily; Dutch noodles are refreshing, tender, slightly spicy and appetizing. However, because some dishes are made in advance and sold at the stalls, they become cold and soft.
 
The capital of Hunan cuisine is located in the depths of the hall, the first floor is the lobby dining area, the second floor is the ordinary private room, and the third floor is the reception room, which is only used to receive celebrities and dignitaries. The capital cuisine of Hunan cuisine is mainly Hunan cuisine, and several traditional Hunan dishes that are relatively rare in other restaurants, such as hair beef shutters, Huaru no yellow eggs, and braised Dongting golden turtles, can be seen here. Diners can either à la carte or choose a fixed table meal. The three famous banquets of "Chairman Banquet", "Taste of Sanxiang Banquet" and "Huxiang Famous Cuisine Banquet" have a complete range of dishes and have been praised for many years.
 
Located between two restaurants, the Fire Palace Temple is a great place to hang out after a meal. The stage on the first floor of the hall has free flower drum performances and Hunan opera performances every night, and interested diners can go to enjoy it.
