InterContinental Wuhan - Institutional Reviews

With more than 5,000 hotels in nearly 100 countries and regions around the world, with a total of more than 600,000 rooms, the above is the strong overall strength of InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG). In 1946, Pan Am launched the Intercontinental Hotel in Brazil. In the 90s of the last century, the British brewery Bass made a big acquisition in the hotel industry, and successively annexed Holiday Inn Group, InterContinental Hotels Group and the British Post House, in 2011 Bass changed its name to Six Continents Hotel Group, and two years later officially changed its name to Intercontinental Hotel Group. Today, in addition to InterContinental Hotels, InterContinental Group also has several brands such as Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza Hotels.

InterContinental Wuhan is built on the Yangtze River, incorporating the element of "water" in its design, its exterior lines are soft and beautiful, with blue as the main color, and the two single buildings are embedded in the shape of a "bird's nest" spherical starry sky club, so that the appearance of the whole hotel is recognizable in the first and second list. InterContinental Hotel is positioned as an international convention and exhibition hotel, it has a very large international conference center, and the International Expo Center is also on its side. In 2016, the InterContinental Hotel was officially put into operation in the midst of much anticipation.

InterContinental is designed for international conferences. The abundant conference facilities are what distinguishes InterContinental Hotels from other five-star hotels in Wuhan, and it is also an important reason why it can obtain high scores. Its international conference center has a ceiling of 16 meters and a pillarless banquet hall with an area of 6,000 square meters, which can accommodate 4,000 people at the same time, which is the largest in Wuhan. This ballroom can be divided into up to 6 ballrooms depending on the size of the meeting. The hotel also offers 65 function rooms ranging from 85 to 800 square meters, including an 800 square meter professional studio.

As a big-name five-star hotel, InterContinental naturally does not lag behind its peers in terms of room equipment. InterContinental Wuhan has a total of 485 guest rooms, divided into three levels: classic, executive and suite, with an area starting from 55 square meters. These rooms are modern and brightly decorated with hidden light sources for a soft and welcoming interior. The carpet is patterned with waves and blue and yellow, and it is very thick, and it is very comfortable to stand on it barefoot. In addition to the above, surround sound, Nespresso coffee machine, private balcony and Salvatore Ferragamo's toiletries not only enhance the guest experience, but also make the room feel as classy as the top two on the list.

In terms of dining, although the hotel caters to the tastes of guests from all over the world, it is slightly inferior to Ruihua and Hyatt in terms of scale. It has a Han all-day dining restaurant, Yue Ge Chinese Restaurant and an executive lounge, among which Yue Ge Chinese Restaurant serves exquisite new Cantonese, Hubei and Huaiyang cuisines, which is the first choice for banquet guests in the hotel. The Executive Lounge has a wide selection of wines, which is perfect for guests to drink.

Compared to most five-star hotels, InterContinental Wuhan does not have a swimming pool and only a gym, which is one of the few minuses. Fortunately, InterContinental's service staff are warm and attentive, and they are quick to respond to the needs of guests.
