Launched in 2014, Mingtang Creative Work Area, founded by Yu Kan, a well-known cultural and creative investor, is a renovation project of the former Chengdu University for the Elderly and nearby community buildings, gathering hundreds of cultural and creative units to operate here. Its livehouse venue, NUspace, is located in Zone B of the workspace. It should be noted that NUspace is not directly related to Mingtang Records, a well-known electronic/rap music label in Chengdu.

Zone B of the Creative Workspace is a two-storey building with a glass curtain wall and a bookstore, exhibition area and co-working area. Deep inside the house is the entrance to NUspace, which is lined with a bar and poster booth to provide customers with coffee, soft drinks and information about the venue.

NUspace has more than 300 square meters of performance space and can accommodate more than 400 people at the same time. The extremely high ceiling and spacious space make the stage here look very open. Combined with the stage effect of dry ice smoke and blurred lighting, the performance of the artists on stage can become more vivid. In addition, the sound effect here has an excellent sense of space and surrounding, and the sound effect is full and evenly scattered, and the standard is excellent. Due to the proximity of the venue to the Kuanzhai Alley Scenic Area, in some folk songs and pop rock scenes, you can see many family tourists with their families entering the performance, and the audience level is relatively rich.

NUspace has a relatively dense performance frequency, and can often arrange performances on Wednesdays and Thursdays when the audience is small, with an average of 8-12 performances per month, involving rap, electronic, folk, rock, post-rock, experiment, etc., and the style is all-encompassing. Famous musicians and groups who took the stage here in 2018 include Hedgehog, Haipensen, Dirty Fingers, Qi Rosewood and Underground Baby.
