Qionglai is a county-level city in Chengdu. After the 4.20 Lushan earthquake, some enterprises and Taiwanese design teams used the timber of the western Sichuan houses demolished after the earthquake to build a rural tourism resort in Gaohe Town, Qionglai.
Tianfu Honggu Gengyu Taoyuan has completed two phases of the project, the first phase has 9 rooms, and the second phase was completed in August 2017 with 19 new rooms. The predecessor of the first phase was an office building of Dajiao Paper Mill, which had been abandoned for many years, and the renovated building was reinforced with a wooden structure and the ground floor was raised, but it still retained the architectural concept of a western Sichuan residence. The second phase pays attention to the collision and combination of modern soft decoration and traditional houses, and is more favored by the younger generation of urban people compared with the first phase.
The second phase has a nice name - Slow Courtyard, because the founder hopes that the guests who come to stay here can let go of the fast pace of the city and slowly experience life with their hearts. The slow courtyard is divided into two series: Tingxi (near the river) and Wangshan (near the mountain), with three types of rooms: standard rooms, double rooms and suites. The configuration of the rooms also varies: some rooms have their own small gardens; Some rooms have a terrace with babbling water and trees on the opposite side; Some rooms are designed as duplexes, with lofts and pools, and are full of loft style. In terms of decorative design, the rooms are all similar, with wooden walls and warm yellow lighting to create a warm atmosphere. In the process of renovation, the designer also integrated the local characteristics of Gaohe, and the bamboo lanterns that can be seen everywhere in the yard are from the hands of the old craftsmen of Gaohe.
The Ark Canteen is a place for residents to eat, and the whole canteen is made of old ship wood paving, standing near the river. The chef of Ark Canteen is from Taiwan and specializes in surprises, and the restaurant specializes in a pastoral set meal that combines Sichuan cuisine with surprise. It should be noted that guests need to make an appointment before going to the restaurant to eat, and the price is about 130 yuan per person.
In addition to setting up a special tea room and study building for guests to relax, Tianfu Honggu Farming and Reading Taoyuan also holds some activities from time to time, such as farming experience and hand-made DIY, so it is also very suitable for families. Please note that smoking is prohibited throughout the park.
