Sichuan University-Institutional Review

Wuhan University, Xiamen University and many other old famous universities have a profound cultural heritage, rich in architectural characteristics, and elegant scenery on campus, which often become places to visit, and Sichuan University is also the same. Sichuan University has been selected as one of the top ten most beautiful universities in China, with a total of three campuses: Wangjiang, West China and Jiang'an, among which Wangjiang Campus is the earliest one established and has the highest tourism value. The Wangjiang Campus is home to historical buildings such as the Mingde Building, natural beauties such as lotus flowers and hibiscus, and cultural attractions such as the Sichuan University Museum, attracting many tourists.

Sichuan University has a history of 120 years, and 9 buildings have been designated as "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units" by the State Council, and Mingde Building is the most well-known of them. Founded in 1955, Mingde Building is now the administrative building of Sichuan University and a landmark building of Sichuan University. Mingde Building adopts the traditional Chinese architectural style of heavy eaves and hilltops, mainly gray, with brick red as embellishment, a combination of Chinese and Western, magnificent. As soon as you enter the main entrance of Wangjiang Campus, visitors are attracted by this elegant and simple building. There are also historical buildings such as the school history exhibition hall, the chemistry hall, and the mathematics and physics hall in the school, each with its own characteristics. However, the original ornate classical roof of the University History Exhibition Hall has been rebuilt into an ordinary flat roof due to termite erosion, and the appearance is slightly inferior.

The natural scenery of the Wangjiang Campus is also praised, and its lotus blossoms are as famous as the cherry blossoms of Wuhan University. From the beginning of June to the end of August is the lotus flowering period, and July is the best time to watch the lotus, when a large number of lotus flowers bloom in the double lotus pond, and the emerald green lotus leaves and delicate pink flowers set off each other, which is gorgeous and magnificent. In the middle of summer, Sichuan University always attracts countless citizens to watch the lotus flowers and take pictures. In addition, Yuzhang Road in late autumn is also a scene on campus, and many photography enthusiasts come here to shoot.

Sichuan University is a century-old university, and the Sichuan University Museum also has a history of 100 years, and is the earliest museum established in southwest China, located outside the east gate of Wangjiang Campus. The Sichuan University Museum is not well-known, but it has a high reputation in the industry, and is known as an "unpopular and interesting museum". The Sichuan University Museum is divided into 4 floors, with exhibits such as calligraphy and painting, art sculpture, ethnic cultural relics, and folk cultural relics being the most distinctive. The sedan chair of the late Qing Dynasty displayed in the folk museum is one of the only two most well-preserved sedan chairs in the country. Chengdu shadow puppetry is also exhibited here, Chengdu shadow puppet is twice as large as the northern shadow puppet, and the performance effect is quite special. In addition, the standing statue of the Bodhisattva with a broken arm from the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the peculiar skull bowl, the tibia, and the ivory fan in the museum are also worth paying attention to. It should be reminded that the Sichuan University Museum is closed on weekends and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The Wangjiang Campus is adjacent to Wangjianglou Park, and after visiting Sichuan University, it is also a good choice to stroll in the park with the sparkling building shadow and the green bamboo sandwich road. In addition to the Wangjiang Campus, the Bell Tower, Huaide Hall, Yide Hall and other historical buildings on the West China Campus and the Long Bridge on the Jiang'an Campus are also well-known attractions of Sichuan University, which can be learned by interested tourists.
