Sen Tsai Kee is a new tea restaurant in Chengdu, which only opened in Chengdu at the end of 2017 and was founded by Hong Kong artist Li Cansen. Less than a year after its opening, it has become a tea restaurant for Internet celebrities because of its rich dishes and imitation Hong Kong-style street decoration style.
Compared with Gangjiu (No. 3) and Kim Tsui Ha (No. 4) in IFS, the stores of Sen Tsai Kee are very small. The walls of the restaurant are covered with Hong Kong-style signs, pottery ornaments, and the layout is compact, just like the tea and tea restaurants in Hong Kong. Customers take photos at will in the store, which is also full of Hong Kong flavor.
Sen Tsai Kee has a wide range of dishes, including traditional Hong Kong-style syrups such as red bean syrup and water chestnut water with bamboo cane, which are more abundant than other tea restaurants. The dish uses Hong Kong-style roasted meat, plus crispy peanuts, chives, light soy sauce and other ingredients, and the rice grains are distinct. Lap-mei blends with rice, offsetting the excessive saltiness, making it both delicious and filling. Customers who are not spicy can also try Sen Tsai Kee's signature scallion oil chicken, the raw material of the scallion oil chicken is white-cut chicken, which does not seem to have a big flavor, but retains the smoothness of the chicken skin and the fresh aroma of the chicken, and even the fragrant chicken fat is also retained, and then sprinkled with a plate full of chives, the fragrance of the green onion does not suppress the white-cut chicken, and the two are blended to add a lot of freshness.
Sen Tsai Kee's signature lap-mei claypot rice is a bit overrated. A typical claypot rice should pay attention to the heat, and the rice is sticky and has pot gas. The claypot rice in Sen Tsai Kee is relatively soft, the rice grains are not distinct, and there is no rice gelatin, and the taste does not conform to the dietary habits of southern Guangdong, but is suitable for diners who are not fond of pot rice. This list mainly follows the characteristics of Hong Kong and Cantonese catering, so it is considered that Sen Tsai Kee Claypot Rice has a low score.
There are many tea restaurants in Chengdu that carry Hong Kong signs, but the taste is quite different. If you want to feel the dishes and atmosphere of the tea restaurant, Sen Tsai Kee is barely qualified, but there is no need to have high expectations, if you treat it as a simple meal, you may be satisfied.
