Opened in 2011, Casa Marco is the backbone of Chengdu's Italian and Western cuisine. It was once the designated dining venue for the internationally renowned bands Westlife and Backsteet Boys. Its founder, Yalding, is a well-known mosaic designer in China, who has a special love for Italian culture and has long been committed to promoting traditional Italian cuisine.
The mosaic décor is a major feature of the restaurant. Originating from ancient Rome and Greece, this ancient decorative art uses small stones or shards of tinted glass to form patterns, and is commonly found in European buildings, churches and home interiors. Yalding's design is integrated into every corner of the restaurant, with the lobby, bar and private rooms all decorated with mosaics, complementing the exquisite Italian cuisine. Even the restaurant's name, Casamosaico, contains the word mosaic.
The appetizers of the restaurant are mainly ham, cheese and salad. Among them, the Italian Santtagne ham with buffalo mozzarella cheese is firmly among the top choices due to its thick portions. The finest pork rump from Culatello di Zibello is known for its flavour. If you don't like heavy food, you can choose from spinach salad with balsamic vinegar and seafood salad with pineapple sauce, which use the warm food feeling and refreshing sauce to open up the taste buds. The pork dumplings in the soup, stewed in chicken broth and saffron, are a specialty of Bologna, Italy, and are worth trying.
The appetizer consists of lasagna, tortellini, pasta and a variety of risotto. There are many types of pasta, such as lasagna, fettuccine, cuttlefish, rotini and chocolate. The products are all in line with the thick and strong Italian flavor. The main food is grilled and half seafood, and the top grill is served by M5 grade ribeye steak. The balsamic vinaigrette of Modena is aged for 10 years, with sweet and sour Portuguese juice and wood aromas, which blend well with the fatty and fragrant naked eye. Grilled silver cod with purple potato puree and ginger lobster sauce is served with greasy but solid meat and strong flavor. Classic is the key word of desserts in the restaurant, and tiramisu, caramel almond tart, and lava cake are all common Italian dishes, and all of them are very popular.
The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the first central business district. In addition to the lobby on the first floor, there are a large number of private rooms on the second floor. Its porch is decorated in a classical and deep European style, giving customers a dignified sense of ceremony. In terms of service, it can reflect a high professional quality, and the waiters can explain the meals in detail, reflecting the training in place. At the moment, the restaurant is not very occupied, but it is recommended to call in advance to make a reservation for holiday meals. If you arrive by car, you can park your car in the first central car park.
