Matrix Coffee was co-founded by three science students, who returned to Suzhou to open the shop after visiting many boutique cafes in the United States, named "Matrix", aiming to make coffee in a scientific and systematic way.
The menu at Matrix Coffee is pure. It doesn't also offer meals like mass cafes, where coffee is the sole protagonist on the menu. In addition to the common espresso, eight pour-over coffees in the two categories of boutique and surprise are the specialties of the matrix. Among them are the common Yirgacheffe, Mandheling, and a top-quality coffee bean jade from Nicaragua, which has a light fruity aroma, clean and bright overall, and a delicate and soft citrus acidity. The matrix will also launch limited specialty coffees according to the season, such as the Sea Salt Cheese Iced Americano in summer, this drink uses fresh milk and salty cheese to make a milk cap, and below is an Americano, which has a dense but not greasy taste and rich layering. There is also a coffee flower honey from Pu'er, Yunnan, which has a sweet taste with coffee flowers and green tea.
Among the specialty coffee shops on the list, matrix coffee is the most mature in commercialization. Its two stores are located in the densely populated Eslite and Suzhou centers, and have a unified decoration style, both of which are made of red characters on a white background, and the font is backlit, which is very eye-catching. Slogans like "The coffee Science" have been added to the door to highlight the scientific approach to coffee making. The lighting in the store is very bright, and the combination of white and wood color is full of literary style. Compared with other boutique cafes in Suzhou, the business of the matrix is more prosperous, and the waiters are not enough and professional, the service is not considerate, and there is basically no time to communicate with customers.
