Opened in 2013, Energy Coffee is one of the first boutique cafes in Suzhou. It is located in the Pingjiang Road Scenic Area, which is the representative store of Suzhou Lane Coffee and the main source of business for tourists and peers. In addition to this coffee shop, the owner, Lu Xiao, also runs a coffee agency company.
Energy Coffee's menu is not professional, and there are only two options for single product coffee, roasted by internationally renowned roasters and home-baked single products, and the specific origin needs to be asked by the customer to the barista. Fortunately, the pour-over coffee in the store is of a good standard, and the sun-treated Yirgacheffe Erica G1 is a high-standard bean in the store, and the coffee made from it has a complex aroma of apricot blossom, nuts and cinnamon, and the taste is full of lively citrus citric acid, plus a little honey sweetness, the overall soft and smooth. What is less well known is that Yirgacheffe, which translates to "settle down in the wetlands" in ancient Chinese, is one of the most water-rich areas in Ethiopia, so the coffee beans in this place are mostly washed in water, and this sun-dried Ereca G1 in the store has a richer fruit flavor and more layering than the washed ordinary Yirgacheffe.
As a small café, Energy Coffee's outlets are quite mini. Tucked away in the bungalow, it's easy to miss from the front door, but a blackboard that reads, "After all, we've been doing this for almost five years," caught the eye of many people in a playful tone. The main color scheme is black and white, and the bar occupies almost half of the space, but there are not too many seats, so when three or five customers enter the door at the same time, the store can look cramped.
Energy Coffee has the typical excellent service of a boutique café, and the waiters are enthusiastic and chatty. The only thing that can be picked on is that the latte art level of several SOEs is not high, if you have high requirements for the quality of the coffee, then you should be cautious when ordering.
