Title Coffee - Merchant Reviews

Title Coffee is the best specialty coffee shop in Suzhou. It was originally opened at the Moonlight Wharf on the shore of Jinji Lake, and then moved to Pingqiao Straight Street in the old city, and became more popular after the relocation. The owner, Miss Ma, is an avid coffee lover, who worked part-time in a coffee shop in high school and started a café business after graduating from university. As an accountant, she often used the word "head-up", so she named her shop after it.

Title Coffee's professionalism is unquestionable. The baristas in the store often participate in various coffee competitions and learn from the top baristas in China. When talking about the excellent independent cafes in Suzhou and even in China, the baristas have a very good understanding of the industry and have relatively rich and professional coffee knowledge.

Several high-quality coffee beans from Ethiopia, Kenya and Panama are enough to demonstrate the strength of Title Coffee. Sidama Oiran is a kind of Ethiopian beans processed by the sun in the store, which is produced at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters, and its unique soil and climate make it have the flavor of passion fruit and roses, and there is also a black tea aftertaste at the end. It is worth mentioning that high-quality coffee beans will exude different flavors in the three stages of hot, warm and cold, so customers may wish to taste them slowly. In addition to several pour-over coffees, the store's SOE (Single Origin Espresso) has also received a lot of praise, and cappuccino and latte are good choices for coffee novices. The store also sells home-baked beans and some hand-poured utensils, which have a considerable sales and reputation, and the store can grind the beans on behalf of them to make hanging ear bags after purchase. It should be reminded that hanging ears are different from beans, and the flavor preservation time will be greatly shortened after grinding into powder, so it is recommended to brew them within a week.

The interior of Title Coffee is refreshing, clean, and full of literary style. There is no conspicuous doorway, and the small space is divided into two floors, with the first floor being a bar, shelves, and a small number of seats, and the second floor being relatively empty for small sharing sessions. The tables and chairs in the store are decorated in black and white, and the staircase is painted green.

What is Specialty Coffee?

The concept of specialty coffee was introduced in 1974 by Erna Knustsen, founder of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). Specialty coffee associations around the world have different definitions of specialty coffee, but the unanimous goal is to meet high standards for growing, beaning, roasting, and brewing to be a specialty coffee. If we use the scoring system developed by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) as a reference, specialty coffee is at the top of the pyramid, and the score is required to be above 80 points.

Specialty coffee in China started late, and the industry generally believes that it started in 2012.
