Guest House - Institutional Reviews

Small but clean and tidy is typical of Hong Kong hotels, and guest houses are no exception. The hotel is just over 700 meters walk from Harbour City. The interior of the hotel is very simple, often referred to as "industrial" and "cold", so if you like this type of hotel, you may want to pay attention to it in advance, which will bring good value for money.

The hostel is located in the downtown area of Tsim Sha Tsui, surrounded by many shops, the streets are narrow and dense, and its ground floor signs are not obvious. The Hart is located at 4 Heard Road, which is the same name as the hotel, with rooms above the 6th floor and a reception lobby on the 10th floor.

The reception desk is made of cement, with strong and angular lines, which is exactly what the overall atmosphere of the hotel is. Steel, cement, and solid wood are the main building materials, and the black, white, and gray tones are used to maintain uniformity throughout the space. It is not difficult to find that this type of hotel is not uncommon in Hong Kong, but the guest house is more hard-lined, whether in the public area or in the guest room, there are few arcs to show, sinks, floor drains, showers, faucets, telephones, etc. are rectangular and sharp at right angles. Wardrobes in traditional hotels are also replaced by metal frames, which are integrated with solid wood tables, which is a common space-saving solution.

A similar example can be found in the bathing area, where all rooms are decorated with hexagonal tiles and rectangular wall-shaped white porcelain tiles, and in some rooms, the partitions are made of transparent glass to provide an unobstructed view of the interior, making it more suitable for couples and couples. Some consumers see this as a disadvantage, but this is really a helpless move, and the minimum area of the 69 rooms is only 6.5 square meters, and the largest is only 11.2 square meters, which seems to be more important to the owner.

The guest house is well-equipped and well-laid out, with separate wet and dry wash areas, and picture windows in all rooms, which is not an easy task in a small space. However, the viewing window cannot be opened and closed, and there is no USB direct charging port in the guest room, so it needs to be equipped with a Chinese/English charging adapter. The biggest disadvantage of the hotel is noise, the noise of corner restaurants and bars can always be blocked by noise reduction, but the water flow in the wall pipes and air conditioning fans are enough to affect sleep.

Each room can accommodate 2 people, and the daily rent is about 800 Hong Kong dollars - 1300 Hong Kong dollars, which fluctuates greatly, and early planning can bring cost-effective consumption. Unlike other shops, the hotel does not serve breakfast, but the 1st to 5th floors of the building are restaurants. In addition, the desktop computers and coffee machines in the 10th floor lobby are open to the public free of charge, and there is also a viewing platform next to it, so the view is more than enough to observe the streets and alleys.
