Founded in 2007 in Seoul, South Korea, Basan Yakiniku quickly became famous with its concept of eight-color pork belly. Nowadays, there are many branches in Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Guangdong and other places, and the business is very hot. Eight-color barbecue, which has been stationed in Hangzhou for many years, has maintained a certain competitiveness so far.
Unlike traditional Korean restaurants, Baseong is not equipped with smoke extractors, and bright electric lights hang from each table. In addition, the restaurant uses gas heating or induction heating, and the iron plate replaces the common baking tray. Overall, the dining experience is similar to eating hot pot, and the problem of oil smoke should not be underestimated. Since it is a teppanyaki barbecue, there are occasional small oil drops that pop up on the diners' clothes. There are no scarves in the restaurant, and diners wearing light-coloured clothing are especially careful.
The signature dish is naturally the eight-coloured classic set meal, which is actually pork belly with eight seasonings: ginseng, red wine, pine leaves, garlic, flowers, curry, miso and chili sauce. The various seasonings are well infiltrated into the pork belly, but after cutting and roasting, the taste difference is significantly reduced. To make the most of the difference, diners need to eat in the order of the eight flavors just listed, transitioning from light to strong. Of course, the three flavors of ginseng, red wine, and pine leaves are indeed very light, and diners need to taste them carefully.
The restaurant gives each table a pot of seafood hot pot, which is actually a common army hot pot. Diners can clearly feel that the restaurant does not pay attention to this dish, with the lack of sauce in the soup base and the mediocre freshness of the seafood, resulting in a bland overall taste with almost no highlights. It is believed that by canceling the gift and giving it to diners, the satisfaction of the restaurant will be improved to a certain extent.
Probably due to the decline in business popularity, most of the eight-color barbecue waiters have a cold and lazy attitude, and there is more room for improvement. The products of Lakeside Store and Zhongda Intime City are better than other branches, and they are worth trying.
