Concord Education is one of the largest education groups in Shanghai, with six campuses, namely Hongqiao Campus, Gubei Campus, Shangyin Campus, Education Campus, Pudong Campus and Wanyuan Campus.
There are three types of classes in the primary school, namely the international class, the pioneer class, and the elite class, which are aimed at people with different educational routes. As the name suggests, the main audience of the international class is families who plan to study abroad and study international courses; The pioneer class integrates domestic and foreign courses, taking into account both sides, and can go both within the system and abroad in the future; The elite class is completely taught within the system, and the ultimate goal is to take the college entrance examination.
Among all the campuses, only the Hongqiao campus offers three classes at the same time. If you want to complete the international coherent education from primary school to high school in the Concord School, the best plan is to study in the Hongqiao Campus of Concord Bilingual School in the primary school, and move on to the Concord Bilingual Senior High School (Gubei) in the middle school. Concord Hongqiao is the largest source of students in Concord Gubei, and the burden of junior high school is still very light compared to other schools.
As an international high school, Concord Bilingual Gubei Campus offers an international curriculum from Grade 6 to Grade 12, using a combination of IGCSE and IBDP. In grades 6-8, students study the Concordia International Integration Course, which includes four compulsory courses and three elective courses, which include Chinese culture courses and mathematics courses in addition to language courses. In Years 9-10, the IGCSE curriculum becomes the main task of the students, and in Years 11-12, the students start the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
In terms of IGCSE results, the quality of teaching in Concord Gubei is obvious to all, with more than 30% of students achieving A*-A grades in exams and 94% of students achieving A*-C grades in exams for several consecutive years, while in university admissions, schools usually require students to achieve a grade of C or above in at least 5 subjects in IGCSE exams.
In 2018, Concord Gubei graduates received offers from Johns Hopkins University, Vanderbilt University, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California, University of Virginia and other universities, and the admissions were mainly concentrated in the top 30-top 80 universities in the United States.
