Aman is a unique global hotel chain that is compact in size compared to business hotels in the CBD, often hidden away from natural or cultural attractions. Each Aman hotel offers a sense of privacy while highlighting the local flair, and many users have become loyal Aman fans. Located on the east side of the Summer Palace, Aman Summer Palace is the group's first branch in China. Since opening in 2008, the hotel has been twice voted the best resort in East Asia by Gallivanter's Guide and a 4-star hotel by Forbes. The site of Aman's Summer Palace is a 100-year-old house, and the renovation project is a reference to the palace pavilions in the scenic area, which is integrated into the scenic area. The 32 large and small suites in the store are all renovated old houses, and the new antique buildings are used as various guest rooms, and they are subdivided into ordinary and courtyard types, with a total of 18 rooms. The swimming pool, theater and other supporting facilities in the store are placed underground, and the area is a little small. In contrast, the Summer Palace seems to be more attractive, with hotels offering private entrances for an early morning tour when the crowds are slighter. To highlight the Chinese theme, Aman hired an additional Hong Kong design team. The hotel is decorated in classical Chinese style, with wooden roller shutters on its doors and windows, calligraphy and paper-cutting exhibitions are often arranged in the cultural hall, and even the waiters wear old-style short coats. Cutting-edge design doesn't necessarily mean convenience, and although Aman's rooms are 39 square metres, most of them are occupied by bathrooms, so they don't make much use of space. The hotel's lighting design has been criticized, and its master control is not located at the head of the bed. The lighting in the bathroom is wired in series with the chandelier in the bedroom, and the two lights can only be lit at the same time, which is very inconvenient to go to the toilet at night. Aging equipment can be replaced, but design flaws are difficult to remedy, and perhaps this is Amanhe's biggest drawback. Aman is known for its local identity, and Aman Summer Palace is the pinnacle of the game, with every item in the store exuding a 'classical Chinese vibe'. It is difficult to say whether this is derived from the stereotype of foreign guests or from the perspective of design, in order to pursue unity with the Summer Palace. Many consumers have reported that the tables, chairs and beds in the antique and simple style are not comfortable, and the daily necessities with classical shapes are not practical. Although the Summer Palace is a royal garden, this popular scenic spot lacks a clean atmosphere. From a location perspective, Aman Summer Palace is not the best resort for all consumers; From the perspective of service quality, few hotels can match it, and consumers can choose carefully according to their own preferences. Aman's fees are more expensive, with junior suites costing RMB6,500 a day, but they are twice the size of the rooms, making them more cost-effective.
