Beihai Park is one of the most complete and oldest comprehensive royal gardens, which became a park open to the public in 1925 and is a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national 4A-level scenic spot. Beihai Park is both beautiful and historical, not only with beautiful lakes and mountains, but also with many places of interest that attract tourists. Beihai Park covers an area of up to 71 hectares, and has been used as the palace of Liao, Jin and Yuan and the imperial garden of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Due to its convenient location in the heart of the city and low ticket prices, Beihai Park is not only a tourist attraction, but also one of the most popular parks for Beijing locals. Interestingly, the famous nursery rhyme "Let's Swing the Sculls" describes this Beihai Park. Beihai Park holds flower exhibitions all year round, with spring flower shows from March to May, lotus flowers from July to August, and chrysanthemums from October to November. Beihai Park can be roughly divided into four scenic spots: North Shore, East Coast, Qiongdao and Tuancheng. The North Shore Scenic Area is the most popular, and the main attractions are Xiaoxitian, Iron Shadow Wall, Nine Dragon Wall, Jingxinzhai, Wulong Pavilion, Xitian Brahma Realm, etc. Among them, the most noteworthy is the Beihai Nine Dragon Wall located in the northwest corner. The Beihai Nine Dragon Wall is one of the three major Nine Dragon Walls in China, with a total of 18 lifelike dragons on both sides, and the carvings of Dougong, Longcheng, Jianwa and other places, the number of dragons on the Beihai Nine Dragon Wall actually exceeds 600, which is one of the landmark attractions of Beihai Park. Qiong Island in the center of the lake and Tuancheng in the south have Yong'an Temple, Yuegulou, Tongxian Chenglupan, Zhizhu Palace, Chengguang Palace, Jade Urn and other scenic spots. Among them, the scenic spots on Qiong Island are built according to the topography, and the scenery of Beihai Park from a high place has a different feeling. It should be noted that to enter Tuancheng and Qiongdao, you need to buy a higher-priced joint ticket, so the flow of people here is smaller, and the scenic environment is relatively clean. Of course, the north and east shores are enough to enjoy most of the scenery of the park, and many locals will not choose to enter the Tuancheng and Qiongdao scenic spots when they come to Beihai, and tourists can choose according to their own needs. However, even on weekdays in the off-season, Beihai Park is crowded with tourists, and on weekends it is even more bustling and rubbing shoulders, which does affect the travel experience to a certain extent, and it is recommended to visit as much as possible during peak periods.
