Xinyuan is located at No. 1 Houheng Street, Wayao, Dongshan, Guangzhou, hidden in the modern historical buildings of Dongshankou, and is a characteristic homestay transformed from a villa of the Republic of China. Xinyuan, formerly known as "Yongchang Garden", was founded in 1923 and was the official residence of the first police chief in Guangzhou, Republic of China. In 2009, Ms. Liu Feng, president of the Guangdong Institute of Architectural and Cultural Heritage Protection, took over the management of the villa, turned it into a homestay, and renamed it "Xinyuan". In August 2017, Xinyuan was officially handed over to Guangzhou White Swan Hotel for trusteeship and operation. As an excellent representative of the conservation and revitalization of the old western-style buildings in Dongshan, Xinyuan has shown good professionalism in the restoration and renovation of the building, basically following the original style, pattern and circulation of the building, retaining the original old building materials such as clear water bricks, terrazzo and flower bricks to the greatest extent, and cleverly adding modern hydropower facilities to the maximum extent allowed by the regulations on the protection of historical buildings, returning to the life of the building. In terms of interior decoration, the original style of Xinyuan is the leading, and then Lingnan characteristic architectural elements are integrated, such as Lingnan Manchurian windows, Guangzuo furniture, copper enamel Guangzhong, etc., to create a combination of private residence of the Republic of China and Lingnan charm of cultural experience space. The garden has three floors and is divided into eight rooms, each with its own character. "Cantonese Mansion Room" and "Cantonese Opera Room" are located on the first floor, "Lingnan Baiwei Room", "Cantonese Embroidery Room", "Thirteen Lines Room" and "Xiguan Miss Room" are located on the second floor, and "Kung Fu Tea Room Room" and "Dongshan Young Master Room" are located on the third floor. For example, the Cantonese Opera Room is a Cantonese opera-themed room with the classic Cantonese opera "The Imperial Flower" on the radio, and guests may even have the opportunity to experience Cantonese opera performances up close; The "Kung Fu Tea Room Room" is themed on the Kung Fu Tea Ceremony, with a spacious and bright tea tasting space, which is suitable for drinking tea and meeting friends in the room; "Thirteen Row Houses" is a distinct theme of modern foreign merchants, with heavy and low-luxury furniture, and a full sense of age. Among the eight rooms, the "Xiguan Lady's Room" and the "Dongshan Young Master's Room" are the main suites, especially the "Dongshan Young Master's Room" has the largest area and the most exquisite decoration. The rooms are in a strong Lingnan style, with every piece of furniture and ornaments being exquisite, luxurious and restrained, and both suites have outdoor balconies. Guangzhou folk proverb "Dongshan young master, Xiguan Miss", the two are the epitome of the old Guangzhou magnates and wealth, and the two suites named after Xinyuan also show their extraordinary pricing - the price of "Miss Xiguan's room" is 3380 yuan / night, and the price of "Dongshan young master room" is as high as 5800 yuan / night. In terms of dining, guests staying at Xin Yuan will receive Cantonese breakfast, afternoon tea and goodnight snacks. Xin Yuen also provides private dishes, which are handled by private Cantonese chefs. The public space on the first floor of Xin Yuan is open to the public in the form of an "afternoon tea museum", where exhibitions such as calligraphy, painting and photography are often held in the lobby, and you can also borrow books from the villa for free. In addition, there are a number of functional spaces in Xinyuan, such as a banquet living room, a tea room, an incense room, an outdoor courtyard, etc., which can be used for family banquets, private parties and business negotiations.
