Yuyin Mountain House - Institutional Review

Yuyin Mountain House is the private garden of Wu Bin in the Qing Dynasty, which was built in the third year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1864 AD), and has a history of more than 150 years. Together with the Qinghui Garden in Shunde, the Keyuan Garden in Dongguan and the Liang Garden in Foshan, it is collectively known as the "Four Famous Gardens of Guangdong in the Qing Dynasty", and the Yuyin Mountain House is the best preserved in the original appearance of the four famous gardens, and it is a typical Lingnan garden architecture. Since 1989, it has been successively listed as "Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit", "National Modern Excellent Architectural Unit" and "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit".

Yuyin Mountain House covers an area of 1,598 square meters, sits in the north and faces south, and has built the deep willow hall, the exquisite water pavilion, the laixun pavilion, the peacock pavilion and the covered bridge, etc., with ingenious layout and compact building. Its layout can make people never get tired of seeing, the brick carving, wood carving, gray carving, stone carving and other works in the mountain house are rich and colorful, and the overall landscape has a strong sense of hierarchy. Among them, on the square pond between the deep willow hall and the Linchi annex, there is a covered bridge called "Huanhong Cross Green", with a total length of only 20 meters, but the design between the grass and tree pavilions on both sides highlights the deep and broad sense of space, which is the finishing touch of the entire mountain house building.

It absorbs the architectural art style of Suzhou and Hangzhou courtyards, although the garden is small, but the pavilions, bridges, pavilions, winding paths, stone mountains, famous flowers and flowers, etc., are readily available. In addition, it is also a typical example of using geometric shapes to organize the scenery space. The whole garden is divided into east and west courtyards, which are connected by bridges and corridors. The east courtyard is a square pond water garden, and all the buildings and scenery are parallel to the square pond, with a square composition. The west courtyard is an octagonal water garden, the octagonal water hall is located in the center of the octagonal pond, and the bridges, corridors and paths in the courtyard are all parallel or perpendicular to the perimeter of the octagonal shape. The two courtyards in the garden are juxtaposed, running through the axis, forming a neat geometric layout, which is relatively rare in ancient Chinese residential gardens. The rainy season in the summer is the best time to enjoy the garden, when the water lilies are in bloom, the fragrance fills the garden, and the scenery is excellent, so visitors who like to take pictures can visit it.

The second floor of the side room of the Shanyan Wu Gong Ancestral Hall and the Ruijing Building of Wenchang Garden in Yuyin Mountain House has been converted into a book bar, named "Mountain House", it is the first shared book bar in the country located in the garden, and the core area can accommodate about 100 people. There are all kinds of books in the study, which can be borrowed without any procedures and deposits, including: nearly 2,000 books such as literature and history, social science, economic management, children's books, life and leisure, etc., and tourists can go to rest and read after visiting the park.
