Wutong Mountain-Agency Reviews

Located in the eastern part of Shenzhen, Wutong Mountain straddles the three districts of Luohu, Yantian and Longgang, and covers parts of Donghu Park, Xianhu Botanical Garden and Shatoujiao Forest Farm. Wutong Mountain is famous, as early as the first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, the "Wuling Tianchi" in the scenic area is known as one of the eight views of Xin'an (now Shenzhen, Hong Kong). You have to ask the people of Shenzhen, which one is better to climb high and look far? There is no doubt that the answer will be Wutong Mountain.

The most important reason is its height. Wutong Mountain is stacked with green mountains, gradually rising from west to east, and there are three main peaks distributed in turn on its main ridgeline: big sycamore, tofu head, and small sycamore. Among them, the Wutong is more than 940 meters above sea level, which is the highest peak in Shenzhen, and faces the Great Smoky Mountains of Hong Kong across the sea with a similar height. Its mountain vegetation is luxuriant; The mountains and streams are secluded; The top of the mountain is often surrounded by unpredictable clouds and mist, which is very beautiful in combination with the strength and softness of the majestic mountain. Climbing to the top of the big sycamore, you can not only overlook the whole picture of Shenzhen, but also feel the novelty of the clouds drifting under your feet.

The forest coverage rate of Wutong Mountain is 88.6%, and it is evergreen all year round. Along the babbling stream, camellias, bell flowers, goldenrod bellwood, litsea cubeba, bean pear, wool cotton rhododendron, and the red mountain are dotted with a rolling green sea, so the scenery on the way to the mountain is not monotonous. It is worth mentioning that the sycamore in Wutong Mountain is not the sycamore, paulownia, plane tree, etc., which are classified as plants, but because there is a large area of Mucuna pruriens that is called "paulownia tree" or "popping sycamore" in the local area. In April and May, the pale yellow flowers of Mucuna pruriens bloom on the branches, shaped like weeping spikes, swaying in the turquoise strings, like clouds.

It should be reminded that the majestic Wutong Mountain has many options for the summit route. Friends with limited time can choose the easier route of "Wutong Mountain Dawang Village - Panshan Road - Haohan Slope - Dawutong Peak", which is a road below Haohan Slope, and you can also ride a bicycle or drive up. Mountaineering enthusiasts can choose the more difficult "Wutong Mountain Tunnel Shatoujiao Side - Tiger Stream - Big Wutong Peak" route. Mountain valleys, large trees, cliffs, and waterfalls can all be enjoyed along the way. Either way, it will take at least 5 or 6 hours to reach the summit and return, so be careful before setting off to avoid getting back in the dark when you descend the mountain.
