Big Pet is a broad-spectrum pet insect repellent developed by Zoetis (formerly Pfizer's animal insurance regulatory department), which is safer than non-predronil and other chemical ingredients.
 
The main ingredient of Da Pet is celamin, which belongs to a group of macrolides produced by Streptomyces fermentation, which is currently widely used as a broad-spectrum and high-efficiency antiparasitic drug, which is more environmentally friendly than non-predronil (Fulion) and imidacloprid (Aiwoke), etc., with small clinical dosage, lower toxicity and almost no side effects. Seramectin was developed by Pfizer and approved by the Ministry of Agriculture to enter the Chinese market in 2006, and was mainly developed as a transdermal drop for dogs and cats.
 
Experienced pet owners may find that they often see a description of "suitable for Curley dogs" on pet medicines, because Curley dogs (sheepdogs, ancient collies, etc.) generally have mutant MDRI genes, are sensitive to macrolides such as ivermectin, are prone to poisoning and even death, and there is no specific antidote.
 
Although celamectin belongs to this class of drugs, according to the Wang Fang test of the Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, under the condition of receiving high doses of ceramectin, the clinical and pathological toxicity of 6-week-old Curry puppies has not been observed, and there are no toxic side effects on adult male and female dogs, so it can be considered safe to use ceramectin at the recommended dose.
 
In terms of specific insect control effect, Da Pamper has a good effect on ectoparasites fleas, ticks, mites, etc., and can also kill and prevent internal parasites such as heartworms and roundworms, but due to different mechanisms of action, it has no defensive effect on flukes and tapeworms. According to foreign pharmacological studies, the ability to kill ticks is relatively weak, only effective for blood-red fan-headed ticks and American dog ticks, and the insecticidal ability of whipworms and hookworms is average.
 
How to choose deworming products, there is no perfect plan, and there is no quantitative indicator to compare their toxicity to pets. Take the big pet as an example, the ticks in the eastern provinces and cities are mainly blood-red fan-headed ticks, the use of big pets is enough to defend, and the use of summer can also prevent heartworms (heartworms are transmitted by mosquitoes, and the temperature needs to be higher than 14 °C), if you are worried about the risk of hookworm and whipworm infection, you can use it with a pet Qing. However, in forest areas, grasslands or other areas with a high incidence of ticks, the risk of tick-borne diseases is too high, and only highly toxic anthelmintic drops can be used.
