Originally from Sun Valley, Idaho, USA, Smith was founded in 1965 as a manufacturer of snow goggles, the first snow goggles with sealed thermal lenses, and has since expanded into sports helmets, accessories and sportswear. However, the production of snow goggles is still the main development direction of Smith, and in the field of helmet protectors, Smith is obviously lacking in product professionalism compared with some brands on the list.
 
There aren't many Smith helmets, and in the children's helmet space, there are only three protective products, the Holt Jr, the Scout Jr and the Zoom Jr, which are priced at $60, $90 and $60 respectively. Smith is very similar to Decathlon, but its helmets are less differentiated and specialized in terms of sports function than Decathlon.
 
Smith's children's helmets continue the brand's heritage, with snow helmets as the main focus, but the Holt Jr and Scout Jr are both EN 1077B and EN1078 certified, allowing them to be used not only in skiing, but also in cycling, roller skating and other sports. It is worth mentioning that although wearing a snow helmet as a cycling helmet can play a protective role, the use of the two is very different. Cycling helmets generally have more ventilation holes and are designed to be optimized for cycling, so it is not appropriate to mix the two. Therefore, Smith's children's sports helmet is less professional and differentiated, only suitable for parents who want to be convenient, and parents who have higher requirements for children's helmets are recommended to use special helmets according to the sports that children like.
 
Both the Holt Jr and Scout Jr are constructed with Smith's bombshell construction (not integral) and Airflow control system, which is well ventilated and poorly insulated for the head when used in skiing. At $60, the Scout Jr also comes with an audio system that allows parents to keep track of their children's condition. Zoom Jr is a one-piece snow helmet produced by Smith using a one-piece manufacturing process, which weighs only 350 grams compared to the other two helmets that weigh up to 550 grams, making it more comfortable to wear.
