Kemi is currently the largest manufacturer of professional lenses in Korea. Although it started late, it has become the fourth largest lens manufacturer in the world with a market share after Essilor, Zeiss and TAG Heuer due to its stable quality and affordable price.
 
Although it is a Korean brand, after the establishment of a wholly-owned enterprise in Jiaxing in 2002, Kemi's two largest factories are located in Zhejiang, China, so the current Kemi lenses on the market are all domestically produced. Kemi's equipment is from Germany and Japan, and all products with a high refractive index of 1.60 and above are based on Japanese MR-8, and the production volume of MRTM plastic lenses ranks first in the world.
 
In addition to the standard coatings, Kemi also offers three coating treatments by function. U2 coating is a basic easy-to-clean coating for water and stain resistance, U6 is a basic anti-ultraviolet coating, and BRC is a barrier coating that prevents blue light and reduces strong light reflection. Although it is far inferior to the German-Japanese brand of the first gradient in the coating process, it is enough for daily use.
 
Kemi lenses range from 1.50 to 1.74, MR-8 lenses with a refractive index of 1.60 or more are recommended for better imaging and better processing performance, which is not easy to break, and is also suitable for rimless glasses. Compared with the above lens brands, the price of Kemi's conventional refractive index and standard film lenses is about 300 yuan, which is cost-effective, and is suitable for people who do not plan to spend more effort and budget on lens selection.
