How about the Gossen Metrawatt multimeter brand introduction

Among the top brands of multimeters, Gossen's popularity is relatively low, not because Gossen's product power is insufficient, but because Goseen's products are highly positioned and their popularity is relatively average. High-precision products have always been Gossen's forte, to take an extreme example: the discontinued Gossen 30M has a six-and-a-half-digit 1.2 million maximum count and 0.003% accuracy, which is on par with some professional desktop multimeters, and even the 30M successor, the M248, has a maximum count of 310,000. In this regard, Fluke and Keysight are also slightly behind. Gossen is one of the best brands for users who require high precision, but it has few price-performance options.

Gossen Metrawatt's two predecessors, Gossen and Metrawatt, were both founded in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century, and as early as 1926, Gossen began to produce multifunctional measuring instruments and was known for their high precision and quality. Today, Gossen is one of the leaders in test and measurement instruments. Since the functions of high-end multimeters are quite comprehensive, in terms of products, Gossen and Keysight are not much different.

At present, Gossen mainly has two series, AM and PM, both of which are high-precision products. Even the AM series, which has a slightly lower positioning, has a maximum count of 12000 and an accuracy of 0.05%, which makes the positioning very high. In addition, Gossen also has several basic instruments with an accuracy of 0.5%, such as the World and 2, but the positioning is not low, and all of them are true RMS, with functions such as bar reading, maximum value recording, etc.

Compared to the AM series, the PM series is even more accurate, and the three multimeters under the series are M253, M250 and M248. Both the M253 and M250, which are positioned at a slightly lower level, have 60,000 counts and 0.05% accuracy, which is not weaker than the top-of-the-line products from Fluke and Keysight. The M248's 310,000 count is currently the highest standard in the industry, but this multimeter does not have a bar reading function and has a withstand voltage of only 600V. Therefore, if it is not for the extremely high precision requirements, the M250 is the more worthy of having in the PM series. At present, there is no Gossen multimeter channel in China, and it can be purchased through overseas shopping channels such as Deya, and the price is 300~700 US dollars.

When it comes to the safety of the multimeter, we have to mention the problem of misinsertion of the meter pen. Generally, multimeters have four terminal sockets, and misinsertion of the meter pen has always been one of the biggest causes of multimeter burnout. But for most Gossen multimeters, this problem doesn't exist. Gossen offers a feature called ABS, also known as Automatischer Buchsen-Sperre, which is currently only available on Gossen and a few Japanese manufacturers. The multimeter with ABS will automatically close the two useless jacks after selecting the corresponding gear, thus eliminating the possibility of misinsertion. In fact, most products from Fluke and Keysight have similar features, but they display alarms on the screen, and some multimeters will trigger buzzer alarms, but they are not as direct and convenient as Gossen.
