Recommended series: NS series, Euro series

 

Founder Stuart Spector first began producing handmade basses in 1976 in his Brooklyn, New York studio. The following year, with the arrival of designer Ned Steinberger, the Spector NS-1 was launched, and its first Curved Body design made the Spector brand an instant hit, and it became a standard in the modern electric bass industry.

 

Today, Spector has become one of the authoritative brands of modern electric bass, with factories in the United States, China, South Korea, the Czech Republic and Indonesia, and has a series of NS, Euro, Bantam, Artists, Legend and so on. Famous bass players such as Garry Tallent, Mike Kroeger, Robbie Merrill and others are loyal users of the brand.

 

The NS is part of the American series and is available in two styles: Neck-Through and Bolt-On. Both maintain a sculpted curved body structure, with a 24-fret, Bolivian rosewood fretboard and active EMG pickups. The biggest difference between the two is the design of the neck, the cost of the screw bolting method is relatively low, after unscrewing, the neck and body can be separated, which is easy to repair, but the sustain is not as good as the neck-through (through neck).

 

The Euro series is produced in the Czech Republic, retaining the curved carved body of the American product, and the wood is mainly American maple and European alder, with the addition of graphite reinforced truss rods. The electronics are equipped with Bartolini or EMG active pickups and a powerful Spector Tone Pump pre-amplifier to deliver a solid and powerful sound.

 

Among them, the Euro 5LX has changed the standard string length of the NS series from 34 inches to 35 inches, increasing the string tension and reducing the weight of the body. The custom Bartolini pickups offer excellent clarity and balance, making them a great choice for musicians who like to play heavy metal rock.

 

Legend系列的标准款均为桃花心木的琴身，三件式枫木琴颈，配24品红木指板，带主动音调控制，4弦版采用Spector P&J风格拾音器，而5弦版本则采用Spector双线圈拾音器。而经典款的特点在于琴身材料主要为枫木，拾音器方面，使用带有主动音色控制的Bartolini拾音器或SSD双线圈拾音器，声音的穿透力强，音色结实，适合做金属朋克或流行风格的音乐。此系列的产地一般在韩国或印尼。
